Diptyque Eau Rose Roll-on Perfume Review

A few months ago, before I went away on a week's holiday, I decided I wanted to get a more travel-friendly fragrance. I've heard many a tale about the rollerball perfumes available in Sephora and I've since hoped that the idea might catch on in other places too. Sadly, I've generally only seen perfumes for sale in the bulkier, full-size bottles which, despite being nice to look at, are fairly annoying to travel with.

I then came across the Diptyque stand in the Zurich Globus and spotted a small selection of roll-on perfumes. I've wanted to try Diptyque candles and fragrances for a while now, but I couldn't quite justify spending so much in one go. I was unsure as to whether I would actually like any of the four perfumes available in roll-on form, but my uncertainly lifted immediately once I found this one: the Diptyque Eau Rose Roll-on. I'm a huge fan of rose scents, but I often find it challenging to find one without it smelling too... old? Basically, more often than not, very floral scents can smell a bit grannyish. That, however, isn't the case at all with this perfume, it's light and fresh without being overpowering. There is a slightly fruity note to it, however the perfume unmistakably remains a rose scent.

As I am clearly poor at describing perfume scents, here's a more professional description from Fragantica: "Top notes are bergamot, black currant and litchi; middle notes are jasmine, geranium and rose; base notes are musk, virginia cedar and white honey." - that sounds better.
This has fast become one of my favourite scents, so if you're on the fence about trying a Diptyque fragrance, I'd say the roll-on perfumes are a good place to start. Whilst they're still far from cheap, they won't break the bank as much as the full-sized bottles, and they really are great for travelling. It also doesn't hurt that they look so dinky and cute!
