A Little Sephora Haul

sephora haul, becca, jaclyn hill, highlight, champagne pop, lip tint, give me some lip

As a beauty product enthusiast (read: hoarder) it is very frustrating to me that I have such limited access to makeup brands. Living in Switzerland means that there often isn't a market for certain things and even if I want to order online, loads of places don't ship here. Sephora is one of the most exciting websites for me, I marvel at the bevy of different brands available like a kid in a candy store. So when my friend was over in the States in the summer and said I should place an order and ship it to her I practically jumped over to my desk and started scrolling. Cut to a few weeks later, we met up in London and I got my hands on my new purchases. Now I placed this order near the end of the month and although there were a thousand more things I wanted from Sephora, I was nearing the end of my monthly budget. Nonetheless, I got some great things so even though it's not much I thought I'd do a mini haul!

sephora, give me some lip, kat von d, lolita, makeup for ever, fresh tarte, marc jacobs

The Sephora Give Me Some Lip kit caught my eye immediately. I'm such a sucker for these selection kits and I absolutely love minis, so this went straight in my basket. This is amazing value for money, it costs $25 and has an overall value of $59 - you know I love a bargain! On top of that I figured it would be a really great way to try some brands that I can't get in Switzerland - correction: I can't get any of these brands in Switzerland! The set contains five mini lip products and one full sized lipstick. The products are as follows:

- Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment in Rosé
- Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lip in Lolita
- Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Gloss 202
- Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème in Je T'Aime
- Sephora Collection Rouge Infusion The Neutrals in 19-Peony

- Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom

I read some reviews where people were a bit iffy on some of the shades, but I can honestly say that there isn't one shade in this kit that I don't like! I've tried almost all the products now and I'm very pleased with them! In fact, I'm already looking to get a full size of Lolita - it's a beaut. I won't tell you my thoughts on all of these in this post, because let's face it, with my rambling you'll be sat here for an hour, but do let me know if you'd like a full review on this set or any of the products in it specifically!

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Pop, highlight

The main reason for me even placing a Sephora order was to get my hands on the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in the shade Champagne Pop - that is a mouthful! I'd been enabled by various beauty bloggers to buy this, there were so many rave-reviews and it was sold out everywhere. I don't know about you guys, but once I find out something is completely sold out, it only spurs me on in my mission to make it mine - I have very selective determination. It'll come as no surprise to you that I absolutely love this highlighter, I've been wearing it almost every day and it featured in my September Favourites. I won't rant on and repeat what I said in my favourites, but rest assured, it's a fantastic highlighter and if you can get your hands on it I highly recommend it!

YSL, lip tint, oil, cherry my cherie

The final thing I got along with this order is a mini Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-in-Oil in the shade Cherry my Cherie. This was a free gift for spending over $25 and being a Sephora Beauty Insider (I think this offer is actually still running too!). I almost overlooked this because you have to enter a promotional code at checkout to get it but I'm glad I did! I've only ever tried the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil and I'd been meaning to give the YSL pick a look, but the brand is so pricey that I hadn't quite managed to justify it. I swatched this on the back of my hand before applying it and I was disappointed to see it come out completely clear. I still wanted to see what the texture was like though, so I slicked it on anyway and left my room without looking in the mirror (I figured I know what clear gloss looks like, no need to stare at it). An hour or so later I caught sight of myself in the mirror and was taken aback at my completely hot pink pout, the colour seemed to have developed once I applied it and boy was it pretty! I'm really impressed with the pigmentation of this and I much prefer the texture to the Clarins option, it's far less thick and it feels more nourishing. A very pleasant surprise!

I'm really pleased with the products I picked up at Sephora and although there were only two things I actually placed in my basket, I've ended up with eight different products to try - not half bad! I think Sephora is a really great place to discover new brands and I'll definitely be shopping there again soon - their rewards are fab. I already have my next order all lined up, now I just have to find a willing participant to ship it to!
