My 3 Most Used Perfumes

I'm probably one of the few beauty bloggers that doesn't own a huge collection of perfumes. I'm quite fussy when it comes to fragrances and more importantly: perfume is pricey! I always think of how many MAC lipsticks I could buy for the price of one perfume and wince a little. Yes, I think of all big purchases in terms of how many MAC lipsticks fit into the price. Once I find a perfume I like, I tend to stick with it and repurchase it over and over. When I was in my teens I did this because I liked the idea of having a signature scent. At the time I thought I was living in the world of Gossip Girl, so needless to say things have changed. Now I just like having a small collection of perfumes so that there's something for most occasions. So today I thought I'd round up three of my favourite perfumes for you! These are all fragrances I use most days and ones I've often repurchased. Let's try to ignore how awful I am at describing fragrances, let's just roll with it!

First off, what is probably my most used perfume of all time; Victor & Rolf Flower Bomb EDT. I think this is a bit of a marmite scent - you either love it or you hate it. This isn't one of those barely-there, super fresh daytime scents. This is strong stuff. It's sweet and musky and if you over apply it, you'll have people covering their faces next to you on the train. But if you apply the right amount I think it's a lovely sweet, floral scent that's kind of sexy at the same time. Nope, not doing this description right, let's head over to Fragantica for a better description. So, apparently this scent is reminiscent of sparkling pink champagne and has notes of tangerine, orange, pink pepper, freesia, rose, osmanthus, jasmine, amber, patchouli and cashmere. I'm not sure if that was more helpful or made things more complicated. Either way, this is a lovely scent that I like to wear in the evenings because it's so long lasting. I've been using this since I was in my teens and this is probably my third bottle of the stuff. Big love.

Next is a perfume I bought sometime last year and one I'd been eyeing up for ages. The Flora by Gucci EDP perfume is another one that's quite strong. I've read very mixed reviews about this one online, because whilst some people loved it, others weren't keen and claimed that this gave them headaches. Luckily, I didn't have that experience with this and it's one I've used so often it's almost finished. This is a very floral scent that's also quite fruity. Top notes are Citrus Accords, Kumquat, Peony, Rose, Osmanthus, Pink Pepper, Sandalwood, Patchouli (thank you, Sephora!). This is a scent that I think is just so sexy and sophisticated. Whilst I think that the Viktor & Rolf scent leans slightly more to the girly side, I feel like this is just a bit more of a grown up evening scent. My one issue with this is that the lasting power literally sucks. It might seem odd that this still made it into my top 3 perfumes, but I just love the scent of this so much. So even if it only sticks around for an hour or two, I'm willing to deal with it. Besides, that's what Travalos are for!

Lastly, we have a perfume that I recently raved about in my empties post; the Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay Cologne. This scent is very different from the other two. It's a much more daytime appropriate perfume; it's light, fruity and slightly citrusy. Here are the notes, courtesy of the Jo Malone website: top note: blackberry, heart note: bay leaves, base note: cedarwood. Now, this is kind of a weird one because it smells like what it says on the bottle for the first while, but I find that on me after a few hours it dries down into quite a manly cologne scent. They say that perfume smells different on everyone so that might be the case with this. Having said that, I actually like the end fragrance too, there's still something light and fresh about it. I'm onto my second bottle of this and I doubt it'll be my last!

That was quite a mix of different fragrances, apparently I'm not very consistent in my perfume preferences! These are all scents that have withstood the test of time for me and ones that I really have loved for ages. Have you tried any of these? What are some of your favourite perfumes?
