The Newest Addition to my Ring Stash: MODDLINC x Jennifer Love

A little while back, I was contacted by the lovely people over at MODDLINC, asking me if I'd be interested in reviewing a piece of jewellery from their website. If you haven't heard of MODDLINC before, it's an online store that presents you with a vast collection of eclectic jewellery pieces from various designers. They have an amazing range of different pieces and a great variety of designers too.

One such designer is Jennifer Love, a designer who actually comes from Switzerland, something that was very exciting for a long-time Swiss resident like me! Over at Jennifer Love, they specialise in women's and children's jewellery, crafting each piece by hand and therefore creating original and unique designs. All of their jewellery is plated within Switzerland with 23K gold, palladium or white rhodium 12 plating. In laymen's terms (aka. my terms) this basically means that the pieces are of very high quality and will essentially last far longer.

The jewellery pieces I own by far the most of are rings. If you're a regular purveyor of my Instagram, you'll probably see that in any photo that features my hand, I'll be wearing some sort of ring. So when I was presented with the opportunity to select a piece of jewellery from the Jennifer Love collection, I of course went for a ring. I chose the Stylish Ring* design, which is plated in gold. What drew me to this piece was the geometric design. I almost always wear very dainty rings and I rarely find statement rings that I really like which are actually wearable.

When the ring arrived, I was very impressed by the feel of it. I know this might sound weird, but as someone who often goes for cheapish rings - don't judge! - I'm accustomed to cheaper feeling materials. Even just the appearance of this piece hints at it's quality and I was immediately impressed. To be perfectly honest, I probably could've chosen this ring in a smaller size. I have absolutely tiny fingers and buying rings is generally a struggle for me - doesn't stop me from doing it though! Having said that, I actually really liked how this ring looked on my thumb as opposed to my fingers. I feel like when I wear any statement rings on my fingers, because they're so small, the ring tends to look a bit out of place. My thumb is slightly more robust (although not by much) so statement rings look better when I wear them like that. This ring was no different, it fit nicely and I think it looks lovely.

Overall, I am really impressed by this piece. You can see and feel how intricately the ring has been designed and that's something that I really like. Plus, the fact that all of the jewellery in the collection has been gold, rhodium or palladium plated, really increases the longevity of the pieces. Anyone else ever get that nasty green mark on their finger after wearing a cheap ring? Not so classy. Well there's none of that here! If you're in the market for a higher quality piece of jewellery, I highly recommend trying Jennifer Love. There's a great range in prices and in the variety of pieces.
