November 2015 Beauty Favourites

So another month has passed and it's time for my November beauty favourites! Don't even get me started on how quickly time is flying by, it feels like everything is just whizzing past. This last month has been a pretty crazy one with lots of busy days, but somewhere along the way I've managed to discover a new favourite or five. There aren't loads this month, because as per usual, I've spent a considerable fraction of my time doing uni work, makeup free and pineapple firmly on head. But as they say, it's quality, not quantity and there are definitely some good'uns this month!

Right, we'll get the obvious one out of the way, shall we? I don't think I was the only one who went slightly barmy for the NARS x Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette. From the moment I saw it crop up on the various blogs I follow, I knew I had to have it. NARS' holiday collections are generally a thing to behold and this year's collaboration with artist Steven Klein was no exception. Loaded up with a contouring duo, a massive Laguna bronzer and four blush shades, this palette has got you covered. There really seems to be something in here for every occasion and I've been loving using it this month. In case I've piqued your interest, I did a more in-depth roundup of this, including some swatches here. Long story short, it's gorgeous, great value for money and just so darn pretty!

I picked up the Laura Mercier Artist Eye Palette a while ago, but I've only really started having more of a play around with it again recently. There's one shade in particular in here that's absolutely stolen my heart: Fresco. It's the shade third from the left on the bottom row and it really doesn't look like much at first glance. On the eye, however, it's a very different story. This is such an interesting nude shade that I've been loving blended all over the lid. I've occasionally left it at that, or blended a bit of Kir Royal into the crease to add some depth. Oh, so pretty.

H&M's new(ish) beauty line has entered my life this last month and completely blown me away. It's been a while since I've been so impressed with a drugstore beauty brand - this stuff is great! I now own three of their eyeshadows, a number I don't doubt will continue to increase, but the real star of the show for me, has been Russet Rose. It's such a gorgeous coppery shade that really makes your eyes pop and it's such an easy one to wear with a fantastic, buttery formula. Blend it out all over the lid, maybe pop a bit under the lower lash line, stick on lashings of mascara and you're done! A lip favourite from the H&M beauty range has definitely been the Cream Lipstick in Sea Shell. This stuff is just so creamy and pigmented, not to mention that the shade is absolutely gorgeous. The lasting power is also very impressive considering the price point and I've found that it leaves a hint of a stain behind, meaning your pout stays colourful for longer - great for lazy gals like me.

Last but not least, we have the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper, a tinted brow gel containing small fibres to make brows appear fuller. When I first bought this, I tried it out and immediately cast it aside. I thought it was too dark, too much and couldn't for the life of my figure out why it was shimmery. I'm still not too sure about the shimmer, but luckily it doesn't translate onto the brows at all so I guess I can let that slide. Up until recently I'd very rarely use this on no-makeup makeup days, but otherwise I'd stay very loyal to my Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara, which is still a great product, but I've found myself reaching for this one a little bit more lately. I'll normally use it after I've filled in my brows using my eyebrow pencil to fix everything into place and fill any sparse areas that have remained. My brows stay put all day and I don't look like a crazy person with black eyebrows and blonde hair either - it's a win-win!

So that's it for this month! I know I say it every month, but I simply cannot believe another month has gone by! Much less that it's actually December tomorrow! I'm so much looking forward to the Christmas season and I'm definitely slowly but surely getting into the spirit. As an added bonus, it'll officially be acceptable to start singing Christmas songs obnoxiously loudly, lighting spiced candles and wearing lots and lots of glitter nail polish - I for one can't wait!

  1. I have that Laura Mercier palette and I always forget to use it! I'm definitely pulling it out tomorrow! Thanks for the reminder! :) Fresco and Bamboo are my favourite shades - they both don't look like anything in the pan but holy moly, they look flippin gorgeous when applied!

I really like the L'Oreal brow plumper! I haven't noticed the shimmery bit, but I don't tend to pay too much attention to the effects of brow gel tbh. I'll need to check the mirror next time :P xxxx

  2. I really want that NARS palette, it looks so beautiful!

  3. The Laura Mercier palette looks gorgeous but i'm not sure i'd make much use out of some shades, but I've had my eye on that NARS one shocking moment palette since it's release but i'm still undecided ha! x

  4. Everyone is raving about these H&M products which I am yet to try. I bought the benefit cheek palette this year but I will most definitely be buying a Nars Christmas set next year.

I love that brow gel too I use it everyday as my brows don't need that much filling in so it's quick and perfect

  5. The Laura Mercier eyeshadow palette is so perfect. I'm into those pinky nude-y shades. :-)
Also that NARS palette is in my Christmas list. I heard so many good things about it!

  6. I know everyone's talking about the Laura Mercier eye palette, and it is gorgeous, but I have to admit the H&M Cream Lipstick in Sea Shell looks BOMB. The shade looks so awesome, and I feel like it matches perfectly with the Russet Rose eyeshadow you got! Great picks :)
