Empties #3

I've been storing my trash for a few months now, so I thought it was high time for another empties post! I'm not sure if it's just me, but I always really struggle with the photography for these posts. There's just something slightly challenging about arranging all my rubbish and trying to make it look photogenic! Either way, I have once again made my way through a good few products, so I'll be giving you the usual rundown on if I liked them and whether or not I'll be repurchasing. Here we go!

Lush Ultrabland Cleanser - This popped up in my last empties post too and it's currently my cleanser of choice. It's been great for my combination skin and has kept things looking a bit more hydrated during the very cold, very dry winter. This is also great for removing makeup because it's a cleansing balm, so it just breaks everything down and leaves things looking clear and moisturised! I've already repurchased this and I'm nearly at the end of that pot too!

Klorane Déodorant Efficacité 24H À L’Althéa Blanc - Is it weird to put a deodorant in an empties? Who knows, I'm doing it anyway! In the last few years I've really tried to move away from deodorants containing aluminium because no matter what the actual risks are, there seems little question about the fact that it's generally not that good for you. The issue is that the deodorants without aluminium aren't always the best! This was okay on days where I was just pottering about, but I wouldn't wear this on a busy day out, let alone to the gym (hah, like I go to the gym!), so that's something to keep in mind. It's not the worst deodorant I've tried, but it's certainly not the best so I won't be repurchasing it.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - Potentially the 20th of these I've ploughed through! Whenever I'm in the UK this is one of those products I pick up without fail, it's so affordable and it's one of the best concealers I've tried. I still have one of these that has yet to kick the bucket, but once that one's gone I'll definitely be repurchasing!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - It actually took me quite a while to get through this foundation, because up until last winter my skin was very oily and this was just a tad too dewy for me. However, after my skin turned into a dry mess this was an amazing foundation for both coverage and maintaining my skin's hydration. I definitely want to repurchase this but since we don't have Rimmel in Switzerland I have to see if I can get my sister to grab me a bottle of this when she gets back from uni this weekend. If you're reading, I wear the shade 100 Ivory - please and thank you!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation - I feel like I got through this foundation really quickly, it was a definite favourite when my skin was oilier because it keeps things looking nice and matte. I have heard from people with dry skin that this just ended up looking a bit of a mess on them, so that's something to be wary of. I did really like this foundation, the coverage and lasting power are great, but I'll be holding off repurchasing this until my skin is less dry.

Nivea Soft Milk - This is just a bit of a classic for me. I've been using this moisturiser on and off for years and years and it's still one of the best and most affordable in my opinion! Plus the bottle is absolutely huge and even at the rate that I get through body moisturisers, this has lasted me a while! I'm a bit of a body moisturiser floozy, so I alternate between different ones and I like to try new things, but I'll probably end up repurchasing this at some point anyway!

Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray - I've mentioned on my social media and on the blog that I recently had a bit of a chop and my hair went from being fairly long to just about grazing my shoulders. It took a bit of adjusting to but now I absolutely love the length! It does mean that I've been using a lot more product in my hair (I've said it before but "short hair, don't care"? Yeah. Right.) and this has been one I've used fairly often to add a bit of texture. I'm a bit of a haircare noob so all I can say is that this seems to work pretty well for me! I'll be repurchasing this as I think it'll be a great product for summer too!

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa - I'm so sad that this has run out. I spoke about how this absolutely saved my dry skin here, and sure enough, as soon as this ran out my skin reverted back to a dry mess. Now I can't get my makeup to sit right and I'm pretty miffed about it. This is basically a "sleeping mask" you put on before bed, and although you can feel a residue being washed off when you wet your face in the morning, it sinks right in and leaves things so hydrated. I will definitely be repurchasing this when I get the chance!

Garnier Miracle Skin Cream - I believe this is perhaps my third tube of this. It's basically one of those creams that comes out white and then turns into a super light tinted moisturiser and I kind of love it. On good skin days I wear this by itself with a little concealer but it also looks lovely under makeup and gives my skin a boost in both hydration and glow. A fab one for summer, so I'll be repurchasing this too!

I think the conclusion of this post is that I have an absolute load of stuff to repurchase. On another note, does anyone else find that all their skincare runs out at the same time? That's certainly what tends to happen to me! Have you tried any of these products?

  1. I have the ultrabland (and love it!), as well as the sea salt spray. :) I haven't really been trying out this last one though, so I'm not quite sure what I think about it yet. You made me want to try out the Rimmel Match Perfection, as my skin is a dry mess.

    1. Ultrabland is just such a fab cleanser! Definitely try the Rimmel Match Perfection if you have drier skin! xo

  2. I've really been wanting to try the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation, as well as the Collection Concealer. However, the Collection concealer isn't the easiest to get here in the US (and ordering off of Amazon or another online retailer worries me because it would be hard to get the shade right I think). But I've never heard anyone say anything negative about the Collection concealer, so I suppose eventually I'll bite the bullet and order it online haha!

    1. They're both great products but I know that it can be a bit of a pain to get the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer if you're not based in the UK. I tend to just wait until I visit the UK and stock up! xo

  3. I love your list of empties! I have tried most of the products mentioned here but the Garnier cream is something I am not familiar with! I have been trying to find a good everyday base product and this might be it :)

    1. Thank you! The Garnier cream is really very light, so if you're after more medium coverage it might be too sheer but if you just want a bit of a tint then it might be a great one to try! xo
