I'm currently writing this post whilst trying to ignore the constant rain and snow going on outside. Spring? What spring? Nonetheless I'm adamant that warmer weather is on it's way and I've started to switch up some of the colours I've been using. My favorite way to update my makeup wardrobe for spring is through lip products. I absolutely love cracking out the bright colours and the corals when the sun starts making more regular appearances. So today I thought I'd show you five lip shades that I'll be sporting during the warmer months and let you know why I love them!

MAC Lady Danger - This is a classic MAC shade and one I'm sure a lot of you already have in your collection. It's one of MAC's matte formula lipsticks and it's a gorgeous orangey red shade. This is probably one of the brightest lipsticks I own and it's definitely a statement shade! I love wearing this in the warmer weather with a bronzed up complexion and lots of mascara!

MAC Tropic Tonic - Another matte lipstick and a very pretty one at that! This is what I'd describe as a bright coral, a great one for the warmer months. I was given this for my birthday at the end of September last year and I haven't worn it much yet as I was more into my nudes and dark lipsticks through winter. I'm really looking forward to putting this to proper use and I'll definitely be sporting this through spring!

Wet 'n Wild Megalast Lip Color in Rose-Bud - This is a slightly more muted shade and definitely nowhere near as bright as Lady Danger and Tropic Tonic. It's a super pretty pink for spring and it's a shade that I imagine would be very flattering on a lot of skin tones. These lipsticks are so affordable and the pigmentation is pretty darn impressive! They have a demi-matte finish and last really well throughout the day. I think this is one I'll definitely have floating around in my handbag a lot during the next few months!

Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom - First and foremost: the packaging of this lipstick? Tarte is doing it right! That aside, this is a much more sheer formulation and it's a great one for those who don't have the time or inclination to go for a bold shade during the day. I get you - girl's gotta eat. This is such a pretty coral shade and because it's so sheer it's also easier to apply on the go and is quite moisturising too! Plus - that packaging!

Becca Beach Tint in Raspberry - Last but not least we have the product that I've been going on and on about for the last few weeks. I've mentioned this enough so I won't ramble on, but it really is such a lovely bright, berry shade on the lips. The swatch honestly makes it look pretty atrocious (it was near impossible to get a good swatch on my arm!) but I assure you that it's such a lovely shade in real life. For those of you who want to throw on a lip stain and some balm and call it a day? This is your guy!

So there we have it, some of the lip shades I plan on using a whole lot once spring really kicks in. I'm so much looking forward to the brighter shades and glowier makeup! Now if it would just stop raining... What are some of your spring lip picks?

  1. I love a good coral shade for spring and summer! I don't wear red colours on a normal basis so it's a bit out of my comfort zone :) Lovely post !!

    1. I tend to stick to more neutral shades during the day too, but I do love a great bold shade every now and again! Thank you! xo

  2. I have the Becca Beach Tint on my wishlist ready for the VIB sale next month. They use to be so popular, then the highlighters became everything everyone talked about, and now I'm determined to bring the Beach Tints back. They sound incredible! xx

    1. Haha, I know, it's been all about the Becca highlighters lately! I love the Beach Tint, I think it's one of those rare multi purpose products that actually works on both cheeks and lips. I hope you like the Beach Tint if you do pick it up! xo

  4. These looks so beautiful! I'm not a regular lipstick wearer so I can imagine myself being a little bit uncomfortable in such bright shades, but they honestly looks stunning so I really want to become more of a lipstick person before spring, haha! xx

    1. Super bold lip shades are still slightly out of my comfort zone too, but every now and again it's fun to play around with different colours! xo
