April 2016 Beauty Favourites

April 2016 Beauty Favourites, monthly favourites, makeup, beauty, dior glow maximiser, mac strobe cream, daniel sandler watercolour blush cherub, elizabeth arden 8 hour cream, maybelline color tattoo on and on bronze, jouer long wear lip creme liquid lipstick noisette, review

So another month has flown by and it's time for me to crack out the favourites! I feel like April was a pretty good month in terms of beauty bits and I made some new discoveries that I absolutely love. The recurring theme in my makeup this last month has been quick, easy and glowy and I think that definitely translates in my favourites! So without further ado, here's the best in beauty from the month of April!

Dior Glow Maximiser Light Boosting Primer - I really never thought I'd be one to go for a high-end primer, I barely even own any foundations that aren't from the drugstore. However that all changed when I went to the mountains for a ski break and during a brief spot of shopping, spotted one of my favourite pharmacies with a 50% off stand outside the shop. After a lot of swatching and playing around with the makeup I was just about ready to walk away when I spotted the Dior primer - the rest is history! I absolutely love this, it gives your base a subtle glow without looking greasy or shimmery and it literally glues your makeup to your face. I've worn this pretty much every time I've worn makeup this month, it's an absolute gem!

MAC Strobe Cream - This is an travel size version of the original because I wanted to test it out before investing in the big tube and truth be told, you need so little of this that even this smallish tube will last a long while! This is another one I use for a bit of added glow and what I love so much about it is that there's not a hint of shimmer, it's pure sheen. I mix a tiny dollop of this in with my foundation and it leaves everything looking glowy and healthy.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream - There's not much to be said here other than that this is a bit of a do-it-all product. I mainly use this on my lips, which I know isn't for everyone because the scent isn't the best but it makes my lips softer than most of my other balms. It's also great for dry patches and a whole multitude of other things. I always have this by my desk!

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Cherub - I feel like I talk about this little product all the time, but it's just such a great one for the warmer months and it's so easy to apply! The shade is also ideal for the kind of fresh spring makeup I've been sporting lately and the formula of this is waterproof, meaning it stays put all day. I'm always meaning to get more from this range and there are a few new shades that have been added recently. I have my eye on the shade Rose Glow, it's a rose gold watercolour blush - need I say more? Hopefully Feel Unique will stock the new shades soon so I can get my hands on them in Switzerland!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and on Bronze - This is another one of those products I've had for ages but keep going back to. Although bronze isn't the most spring-y shade, I've been loving applying this lightly and just kind of blending it out. It's so easy to do and probably takes all of two minutes, plus it lasts so well throughout the day!

Jouer Long Wear Lip Crème Liquid Lipstick in Noisette - Right, these liquid lipsticks really have been all over my blog and Instagram all month, they're absolutely amazing! It's been a long while since I found a liquid lipstick I like as much as these. They're long wearing, not too drying and the shade range is absolutely gorgeous. Noisette is a proper brown without any red or grey to it, which a lot of my other brown lipsticks have. It's absolutely gorgeous and it's one of those shades that's great for the daytime as well as the evening!

So those are some of the products I've been reaching for throughout April! I'm really loving getting back into lighter, more minimal makeup. I feel like all throughout winter I was really going in with heavier makeup and a lot of earthy, dark tones so it's fab to be able to crack out the pinks and the corals again! What were some of your favourites last month?
