From left to right: MAC Painterly, Maybelline On and on Bronze, Maybelline Creamy Beige, KIKO 05 and KIKO 06.

As soon as the weather starts to warm up, cream eyeshadow slowly creeps its way back into my daily makeup routine. There's something about the easy-application that means I always crack out the cream products during the spring and summer. Over the years I've found formulas that are super pigmented and creamy, yet stay put all day, so today I thought I'd have a little chat about five of my all time favourites!

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly - I've spoken about this loads and loads on the blog already because this is my go-to eyeshadow primer for whenever I use powder eyeshadow. However, the shade of this being so close to my own skin colour means it makes an excellent one to just even out the colour on your lids. I find myself reaching for this even on days when I don't wear eyeshadow, just to make things look a little smoother in the eye department. If you have a lighter skin tone and you're looking for one of those no-makeup eyeshadow shades this might be a great one to try!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and on Bronze - The Maybelline Color Tattoos are a product that I think most people already have in their collections, and with good reason! These are so pigmented and once you apply them onto your eyelids they do not budge! Although this may not be the most spring-y colour, I really love wearing a bronzey eye all year round. This coupled with a nude lip and some bronzer and you're on your way to a fresh and summery look.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Leather Effect in Creamy Beige - I actually didn't even realise that this Color Tattoo was from the Leather Effect range because, truth be told, this has pretty much the same finish as my other cream eyeshadows! I picked this up because I was after one of those taupe-y brown shades that I could use for everyday without worrying about it clashing with any other part of my makeup. This is a fab one to just throw on when you're in a hurry to make it look like you've put in more effort than you really have. Perfect for busy mornings!

KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 05 - I'm a huge fan of these eyeshadow sticks. They're amongst the most richly pigmented eyeshadows I own and they're incredibly creamy and easy to blend. You do only have a very small window in which to blend these though, because once they've set, they're not moving all day. This shade is really unique to my collection and is supposedly a much more affordable dupe for the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock. This has been a favourite for a while now and it's a lovely shade for a plummy evening smokey eye too!

KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 06 - This shade is quite similar to On and on Bronze, but it's just a smidgen warmer in my opinion. Same deal here with the rich pigmentation and stellar lasting power, all with the convenience of essentially being able to draw on your lids with a crayon! This looks gorgeous blended out as a wash of colour on the lids and it's one you can build up for a bolder look or sheer out to keep things slightly softer.

So those are my picks for cream eyeshadows! I tend to gravitate towards neutral tones and bronzey shades no matter the time of year, but all three of these ranges have fantastic formulas and a load of different colours if you fancy something a bit more seasonally appropriate! I think I might invest in a pink or two... What are some of your favourite cream eyeshadows? Happy Friday!

  1. I have a By Terry Ombre Blackstar and a Charlotte Tilbury Cream shadow, obviously both are really expensive but i really love them both! I've heard lots about the Kiko sticks and I think i'll try and replace my by terry with one of these, could probably get about 5 for the price of 1!
All of these shades are gorgeous so I'll definitley be referring back to this post before I buy!

    1. I didn't know that! I've always thought that Maybelline Creamy Beige looks a bit like MAC's Groundwork! It's always great to find a dupe though! xo
