Five Cream Product Favourites

Five Cream Product Favourites, cream products for summer, nars matte multiple altai, gosh lumi drops 002 vanilla, sleek creme to powder blush french rose, loreal infallible sculpt contour palette review, maybelline color tattoo leather effect creamy beige, review

Once the warmer months start approaching and the full-body SPF slathering begins, I find myself neglecting the powders and reaching for my cream products more often. There's something about a cream formulation that makes makeup that bit more natural and spring/summer appropriate. Today I thought I'd talk you through some of my cream product favourites, old and new, and fill you in on why they're fab picks for the warmer weather!

NARS Matte Multiple in Altai - This one's an old favourite and one I've been using for over a year now. Although I did use this on and off during winter, I've found myself reaching for it a whole lot lately. This is essentially a cream bronzer that you can buff into skin to warm your complexion up. I do occasionally use it as a light contour, but it's quite warm so it's not the best product to carve out cheekbones. I prefer it as a way to cheat a bit of a bronzed look and I love that there's no shimmer to it so it leaves everything looking nice and natural.

GOSH Lumi Drops in 002 Vanilla - This product is a new addition to my makeup stash and one I'd been trying to track down for absolutely ages. It's only in the last few months that GOSH has been available in Zurich and so I had a good swatch through all their products at the counter and was really impressed. What caught my eye, however, were the Lumi Drops in the lightest shade, a product that was sold out for weeks. I've since managed to snag one for myself and I'm really liking it so far! This is a liquid/cream highlight that you can dab onto cheekbones and wherever else to give you some serious glow. It's stays on the right side of shimmery so you can definitely see the glow, but it's not going to make you look like a ball of glitter. Definitely one to try for a great affordable highlight!

Sleek Crème to Powder Blush in French Rose - Another oldie in my collection - this was actually one of the first products I ever spoke about on my blog! As much as I love the idea of cream blush, I sometimes struggle to get along with it as I find it disrupts my makeup too much. There's none of that here! First off this is such a gorgeous everyday shade that looks good with pretty much any makeup look. Although it's a cream to powder formula, it doesn't look powdery on the skin and it's super blendable. It lasts well throughout the day and it's a great one to just stick in your handbag on the go!

L'Oreal Infallible Sculpt Contouring Palette - I wrote a full review on this drugstore contouring duo here, and it's safe to say I was pretty chuffed with it. The contour is a similar shade to the NARS Altai Matte Multiple, only the colour runs slightly cooler in tone, which makes it much more ideal for contouring. The highlight is kind of the star of the show for me here; it's matte, creamy, blendable and does an amazing job at adding brightness to darker areas of the face. A great pick if you're looking for an affordable contour kit!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Creamy Beige - Yes, I know, I've rattled on and on about this eyeshadow, but I just had to stick it in this post. This is my go-to shadow for those days when I can't be bothered but still want to look put together and the warmer the weather gets, the more often I can't gather the motivation to put together a proper eyeshadow look. It's a super convenient product and the shade is just gorgeous, that lovely kind of flattering barely-there brown - all for under a fiver! What's not to love?

So those are some of my recent cream product favourites! I'm seriously so chuffed that the weather is starting to improve and that the sun is making slightly more regular appearances. Yes, it's supposed to rain for half of this week, but in my eyes, summer is on the horizon! What are some of your cream product favourites? Let me know below!

  1. In spring and summer I much prefer cream than powder products. I love this post because most of your picks are drugstore, so I do not have to think to much before buying them if I like the idea of them! I already have the color tattoo in on and on bronze and I love it, it is so quick and easy to apply. I definitely need to try the Sleek Cream to Powder blush and the L'Oreal sculpting palette!

    Thanks so much for sharing,

  2. I'm always so scared of trying out cream products cause I worry that they won't blend out properly but this post has definitely tempted me to try some out. Cream contouring is one I really want to try as it's supposed to look so much more natural! x

  3. Those Lumi drops sound amazing! I've also been reaching for more cream products x

  4. Maybelline color tattoos! I've forgotten all about those! You're right about cream products, it does look natural. It's perfect for this time of year! Great post! :-)
