Five To Try From NARS

Five To Try From NARS, nars makeup, palette, blush, eyeshadow duo, velvet matte lip pencil, laguna bronzer, audacious lipstick, review

NARS has long since been one of my absolute favourite high-end makeup brands. I remember being in my early teens and going into Space.NK to ogle all the products at the counter and keeping tabs on all the new collections. At that time my pocket money only stretched as far as the isles of Boots but I had a firm wish list in place nonetheless. Fast forward about ten years and I've tried a fair few products from the brand. No matter my daily makeup routine, there's normally a NARS product floating around in there somewhere. Today I thought I'd share five of my favourite products from the range and the details on why they're worth a try!

Bronzing Powder in Laguna - You may have spotted a rather large NARS palette in the above photo, which was actually a release from the 2014 holiday collection. This is one of two face palettes I own from NARS and both house a full sized Laguna bronzer, so I've never felt the need to actually get the single compact. Although it looks like I've barely made a dent in it, I've used a whole lot of this and it's one of my all-time favourite bronzers. There is a bit of shimmer to this but it's nothing that leaves you looking like a bronzed disco ball, it just imparts a natural, healthy summer glow!

NARS Powder Blush - If you haven't tried one of the classic NARS powder blushes yet, then I highly, highly recommend doing so! The shade range is gorgeous, the products themselves are blendable, super pigmented and last an absolute age. As with Laguna, most of my NARS blush shades are in face palettes, so I haven't really bought the single compacts. My favourite blush shades of the ones I own in my makeup stash are Luster, Dolce Vita, Final CutOrgasm (the only one I have in a single compact) and Robotic. It's best to just go to a counter and swatch the shades to see which you like best. There are so many that there should be a shade for pretty much every skin tone!

Eyeshadow Duo - These are the eyeshadows I bring with me on holiday the most out of the others I own as they're just so practical! Aside from travelling well, these are buttery, blendable and very pigmented. The colour range is also very extensive and there are loads that I have my eye on, but the shades I own are Kalahari and St-Paul-De-Vence. The former tends to be used more during the colder months and the latter is the one I crack out in spring and summer. They're both such gorgeous compacts and if you're after an eyeshadow duo to whisk away with you on holiday, I'd recommend checking these out!

Velvet Matte Lip Pencil - I've been a long time fan of these and as someone who loves a matte lip I can definitely appreciate a product that makes the whole application process about ten times easier! As these are already in pencil form, you can get a more accurate application (when they're sharpened, that is, ignore my currently unsharpened ones above!) and skip the liner. I own the shades Cruella (dark red) and Dolce Vita (a bright rosy pink) and they're both fab. The lip pencils are highly pigmented and really last a long time on the lips. Yes, I wish you didn't have to sharpen them and waste product, but aside from that they are well worth a try!

Audacious Lipstick - These lipsticks were released quite a while ago now, but NARS brought out a shedload of shades all at once. I remember going to the counter and spending an absolute age deliberating over which shade to get. I ended up purchasing Anita, which is a lovely pinky/browny nude (are you surprised? Do I really buy any other lip shades?) although I could've bought about five other shades, there were so many I liked. If you like a demi-matte lip that isn't drying then this range is definitely one for you to check out!

So there we have it, five NARS bits that are worth a try! I have yet to try any of the NARS base products as they cost just about double as much in Switzerland as in the UK, so the jury's out on those but if you've tried them do let me know how you got along with them! NARS Sheer Glow is calling to me! Happy Friday!

    1. I know what you mean, a few years back I was after the NARS Guy Bourdin blush palette and it was sold out everywhere! It's best to keep your eyes peeled around the holiday season and then nab one as soon as they're released! xo
