Minimal Makeup Essentials

Minimal Makeup Essentials, no makeup makeup, erborian cc crème HD, rimmel wake me up concealer, maybelline brow drama sculpting brow mascara, mac all that glitters eyeshadow, clarins instant light natural lip perfector 02, review

Every so often I have days where I really can't be bothered to go the whole hog with my makeup. Especially once the temperature starts to creep up during the warmer months, I find myself reaching for more minimal makeup products. These are some of the products I use when I kind of feel like putting a little effort into my face but really don't want to bother with the likes of contour, baking and whatever else!

Erborian CC Crème HD - If you've been around these parts for a while you might remember me talking about this product last summer. This is just one of those beauty bits that's really great when you want a bit of tint to your skin with minimal coverage. This won't really cover up blemishes or discolouration, but it'll give you a healthy glow and some serious SPF!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - I love cracking this one out to just conceal any blemishes and use on my under eye area. The coverage isn't as heavy duty as some of my other concealers, which makes it ideal for more minimal makeup. Some days I honestly just dot this all over my face and trot off out the house - I'm all about that convenience!

MAC All That Glitters Eyeshadow - Truth be told, I own a lot of eyeshadow. Enough that I rarely really make a considerable dent in anything as I'm always flitting in between shades and brands. This is one of the few shadows that I've really dug into and when I don't know what to wear on my eyes or just want to keep things simple, this is what I reach for. I tend to use this just as a wash of colour on the lids and it gives them a bit of colour and a lovely bit of glow.

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara - This is one I haven't spoken about for a long while on the blog. I know this is a weird one for a lot of people because of the very interesting brush but I think that if you can look past that, the product is really good! Even on minimal makeup days, I like to add some kind of definition to my brows and as I have a lot of sparse areas, I reach for products that will fill those in too. This product fits the bill and not only fills in those sparse areas, but also sets the hairs in place all day. Needless to say, I'm a fan!

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector 02 - This is such a classic and I'm sure loads of people already have one or two of these in their stash! If I'm going for really minimal makeup and I want to add a little something to my lips to finish the look, I tend to throw one of these on. These are glosses for people who don't like glosses; they leave more of a sheen than anything, no stickiness and they smell and taste amazing! A great one to just throw in your handbag and go!

So those are a few of my picks for those days where you just really can't be bothered. I honestly love doing my makeup, I find the whole process very therapeutic (clearly a bit of an addict) but sometimes, I just prefer to keep things minimal. Plus no one wants to be sweating their contour off in 28°C weather, do they? Do let me know some of your minimal makeup favourites down below!

  3. Oh man, Brow Drama did NOT work for me. I thought it went on really uneven and my brows looked more messy with it than without. Glad you enjoy it!

    1. I'm sorry Brow Drama didn't work out for you! I have heard some mixed reviews on it, but I find that if you remove the excess product before application it applies much more evenly! xo

    1. All That Glitters and the Wake me up concealer are both fab. There are quite a few different shades of the Clarins Lip Perfectors, I think they just added some more recently, they might have one with a more rosy or reddish tint! xo

    1. That's definitely the case with me too, even if I'm keeping my makeup simple, I like my brows to be in place! xo
