NYX Lip Lingerie Review | Bedtime Flirt

NYX Lip Lingerie Review - Bedtime Flirt, nyx liquid lipstick review, swatches

I've wanted to get my hands on the NYX Lip Lingerie liquid lipsticks since I first saw them surface on the Internet. After a lot of waiting around I thought they weren't even going to release them in Switzerland, until I coincidentally stumbled across them in Lucerne last week. I managed to restrain myself and buy just one shade (although I am kicking myself for it now) and I've been using it almost every day since so I thought I'd share some of my thoughts!

First off, this shade range is right up my street. I'm a sucker for brown nudes and this line is chockablock with them. I literally was spoiled for choice but I'd already had a shade in mind, so I went ahead and picked up Bedtime Flirt. I've since gone home and googled swatches and I've now got my sights set on Embellishment, but that purchase will have to be for another day.

The packaging is unsurprising, it's plastic and feels light as drugstore packaging often does. The tube houses a very long doe-foot applicator, which I personally don't love as it's just a wee bit too large for my liking, but it works just fine. The shade I chose is the typical kind of shade I gravitate towards, a very Velvet Teddy-esque hue that's flattering and works well for everyday makeup.

The formula of this lipstick is very thick and creamy with high pigmentation. When I applied it, I found that a little went a long way, and what was on the applicator was more than enough for one application. I did find that the less I used of this, the better the finish. It does dry down matte straight away, but the finish is slightly tacky and if I used more product I got a tackier finish, which I wasn't particularly fond of. However, because this lipstick doesn't dry down completely matte and dry, it does mean that it doesn't feel as drying over time. You can also retouch the lipstick throughout the day without it crumbling or pilling, which I always appreciate in a liquid lipstick. It did transfer ever so slightly on me but wore well for about five hours as long as I didn't eat or drink a lot.

I do really like this lipstick formula and although I've seen it's had some mixed reviews, I've been getting a lot of use out of it. I like that this isn't one of the typical liquid lipsticks that dries down completely matte and leaves your lips feeling like the Sahara Desert. I also love the shade range and I think that with the 12 shades available, most people should be able to find a nude that they really love. Would it be ridiculous for me to make the 2 hour journey to Lucerne again just to pick up a few more of these? Yes, absolutely. Does that stop me considering it? No, apparently not.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? If you have any shade suggestions please do leave them below! I may or may not be taking a brief trip to Lucerne soon...
