Three Spring Bases

Whenever the sun starts peeking out again during the warmer months, I like to make some changes to the base products I use. Whilst I tend to go a little heavier during the winter, I always reach for my lighter, glowier foundations during spring and summer. Today I thought I'd have a little chat about three base products I've been cracking out on the reg and let you know why they're faves!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation - This was my absolute ride or die foundation for years and I'd have at least one back up bottle stashed away in my drawers. These days I switch things up more and tend to save this one for the spring and summer, because it packs some serious punch when it comes to giving your skin some glow. This does have some slight shimmer to it, which is why I prefer this for spring, but it's not too noticeable once it's on the skin. Admittedly, this isn't the lightest of formulas, but it's a great one for someone who prefers a higher coverage, because this will cover just about everything up and leave your skin looking fresh and healthy!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - I talked about this product a fair bit a month or so ago when I first picked it up. It's since been one of my most used foundations, especially now that the temperatures have started creeping back up. This is far lighter in formula than the Rimmel foundation and has less coverage too but it still leaves a gorgeous glow that transforms lacklustre skin. Whenever I feel like doing slightly less with my makeup, this is the product I reach for.

Jouer Matte Moisture Tint - This is a bit of a cult favourite and I was sucked in by the hype when I picked this up on Cult Beauty a while ago. It definitely lived up to the hype and it's a pretty unique one to my collection. The formula of this is really interesting, it has kind of a whipped texture and feels super light on the skin. Don't be fooled by the matte aspect; yes, it's not the glowiest one out there but it has more of a demi-matte finish and doesn't leave things looking flat or dry. A great one for combination skin that will still leave you with healthy-looking skin!

I'm so chuffed that it's finally time to crack out all my spring makeup again, even if there is still the occasional bout of torrential rain! Hopefully this has given you a bit of inspiration if you're on the hunt for a new spring base! What are some of your favourite base products for spring?
