Colourpop Haul & Swatches (+International Shipping)

Colourpop Cosmetics Haul, colourpop haul, lippie stix, matte liquid lipsticks, supershock eyeshadows, review, swatches, how to get international delivery, how to get colourpop in switzerland

Of all the hauls I've ever done on this blog, this has to be up there with the ones I've been most excited about. I've been wanting to try Colourpop makeup for so long. I've enviously read many a Colourpop haul post and watched my fair share of swatch videos on YouTube. I finally bit the bullet and made an order for myself and I'm so happy I did! Today I thought I'd show you the bits I picked up and share my first impressions along with some swatches!

I will briefly say that I live in Switzerland, so the chances of Colourpop starting to ship here in the near future are pretty darn slim. I'd heard a lot about people using courier services to ship to the UK, but I hadn't seen anyone talk about international delivery. After much back and forth I decided to use a third party company to ship my Colourpop order to Zurich. If you're here for the shipping info and are curious about my experience, I'll break everything down for you at the end of this post so stick around until the end if you want to read about the shipping process! Right, on with the haul!

Ultra Matte Lip - The rave reviews of Colourpop's matte liquid lipsticks are kind of the reason I decided to place an order with them initially. I'd heard tales of these lipsticks being absolutely iconic, the shades being pigmented and opaque as well as lasting all day. Choosing shades was quite a struggle but I settled on three, Midi (a pale pink nude), Trap (a greyish browny pink) and Bumble (a bright rosy pink). So far I've only properly road tested Trap, which I wore on a night out last week. It fared very well indeed and I was able to reapply it throughout the night without it balling up or pilling. It was drying after a while, but that's just the price you pay for matte, long-lasting liquid lipstick! I will keep you posted on how I get on with these but I can say so far, so good!

Lippie Stix (Matte) - I'm pretty sure I initially had more of these in my basket, but my whole Colourpop order had to be cut down at the end as I was wary of being hit with customs charges. I ended up settling on only one of these, in the shade Tootsi. As you can probably tell from the swatches, this is actually very similar to Trap, only slightly darker. I'm currently really into the greyish lip tones, hence my decision to pick up two in different formulas! I have yet to try this on my lips but from the swatches I can say that this is very creamy and pigmented.

Lippie Stix (Matte X) - This is the newest release from Colourpop, as far as I know. It's an extension of their Lippie Stix line with a new formula that is more matte than the original matte Lippie Stix. After much deliberation and frequent stalking of Kathleenlights swatch video, I settled on Pillow Talk (a medium brown) and Cami (a mauve). These. Are. So. Pigmented. Literally, all I had to do was lightly touch these to my skin and there was already serious colour payoff. I've never swatched a lip product anything like these before. They are both absolutely gorgeous colours and I'm really looking forward to putting them to the test properly!

Super Shock Eyeshadow - I had a whole list of shades I wanted to try of these shadows because they look absolutely amazing and the shade range is seriously fab. Alas, the whole customs charges thing stood in the way and I settled on two shades that I really wanted to try, Weenie (pearlised finish, pinky rose gold) and Wattles (satin finish, dusty beige pink). As you can probably see from the photos, Weenie arrived broken, but seeing as the products made quite a journey it's not something I was particularly bothered about, plus these can very easily be moulded back into the pan. I cannot even tell you how impressed I was when I swatched these. They literally feel like butter and it felt like I was swatching cream shadow. The pigmentation and blendability are absolutely amazing and I love both shades. These are $5 dollars and definitely some of the best eyeshadows I've ever tried!

I am seriously so chuffed with all the bits I ordered, the quality is amazing and the price is so reasonable. I know it's a bit of extra faff to get ahold of these products if you live outside of the US, but in my opinion it's definitely worth it! I spent less on the eight items I got (including shipping costs) than I would if I bought two or three items from the drugstore in Zurich. I'll definitely be keeping you posted on how I get along with these products, expect some reviews soon!

Shipping - My Experience and Information

Let me preface this by saying that I was very hesitant to use a third party shipping company. I'd read so many posts about positive experiences when shipping goods from the States, but I was wary nonetheless. It wasn't until I read about myMallbox that I began to seriously consider placing an order with Colourpop and using a courier service. The website looked legit, there seemed to be great reviews of efficient service and I decided to just give it a go.

There are a few steps to the process, which I'll briefly outline for you. First you make an account with myMallbox and they give you an American address. You then enter this address into the shipping details of the website you're ordering from so that the goods you order will be sent directly to myMallbox's warehouse, to your personal address. Once your package arrives at the warehouse, myMallbox will send you an email to let you know you have a delivery, at which point you can choose different shipping methods on their website. Shipping costs vary depending on the size and weight of your package. I chose regular delivery that would mean my package would get to me within 6-12 business days, which cost me around $11-12. My package arrived in my mailbox in Zurich around a week or so later.

From placing the order to actually receiving my package I'd say the process took somewhere around 3 weeks, maybe slightly more. The longest part of this process was actually Colourpop processing and delivering my order, which is apparently due to the fact that they have very high demand for their products. From the package arriving at myMallbox and it arriving at my mailbox in Zurich it only took about a week.

Overall, I'm really happy with the ordering and shipping process and I'm really glad that I used myMallbox. I would definitely use their service again and I already have my eye on a few more things that I'd like to order from the States! I hope this has been somewhat interesting/helpful if you've been looking to order some bits from Colourpop! Have you ever tried Colourpop? Let me know below! Happy Friday!

  3. I've used MyMallBox twice now and I've been very impressed by their service, even if I was hit by customs on my second order (damn you Royal Mail). The quality of Coloupop eyeshadows in particular is stunning, I'm obsessed with La La :)
