June 2016 Beauty Favourites

June 2016 Beauty Favourites, monthly favourites, urban decay, colourpop, charlotte tilbury, soap and glory, catrice, bourjois, review, favourites

As far as new beauty discoveries go, June has been kind of a winner. Between me finally ordering some bits from Colourpop and my trip to London, I've found a fair few new favourites! As always, I've tried to keep things streamlined so believe it or not, this is the pared down version of my favourites this month! So without further ado, here's a roundup of the best in beauty from the month of June.

Urban Decay 8-Hour Afterglow Highlighter in Aura - If you caught Monday's post you'll already know about my love for this highlighter. Basically this gives your skin the most gorgeous, rosy glow that catches the light and really gives that sheeny look to the tops of your cheekbones. It's buttery and pigmented as anything, plus it lasts really well throughout the day! Definitely one to check out if you're in the market for a new highlighter!

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bond Girl - I picked this up when I was in London recently and it's my second ever purchase from Charlotte Tilbury. Believe you me, I could've done a lot more damage to my bank card there but reason got the better of me so I peeled myself away from the counter. I absolutely love this lipstick, the shade is like unlike anything I own. If you apply it properly it's a gorgeous deep dusty rose, but patted onto the lips it's much more of a pinky rose, which I've been loving pairing with a simple eye look. Either way, this lipstick is absolutely gorgeous and the formula is great, it's a demi-matte finish that isn't drying on the lips and lasts well as the day goes on. A new handbag staple!

Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer - This was recommended to me by my lovely friend and fellow blogger Ilia from Ilia's Cup of Tea. As we both reside in Zurich, we know that it can sometimes be slim pickings in terms of makeup in our area. I've been after a concealer that I can use under my eyes without it being a crease-y mess for months now, so when she recommended this, I practically dashed to the shops to find it. It took a little while for me to track down the lighter shade but it was well worth it. The only mild gripe I have with this is that it is really heavily fragranced, which I personally think is slightly unnecessary for a concealer, but I only use it under my eyes and not on the rest of my face. Aside from that, this doesn't crease and really brightens up my under eye area. That paired with the supper affordable price means I'm certainly not complaining!

Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix in Cami - Brace yourselves, the Colourpop raving has begun! I'll try to keep it somewhat brief! This lipstick has been in my handbag almost all month and I've worn it a heck of a lot. It's another one of those products that looks great when applied properly, or when just patted onto the lips for a softer, more daytime type of look. I've been applying this lightly and topping it off with a bit of balm to create a light, pinky mauve pout for minimal makeup days. I've also worn it applied fully for the evening or more full faced makeup looks. This is probably the creamiest lipstick I've ever used and it lasts amazingly throughout the day. If you can't tell, I'm mildly obsessed!

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow - These shadows have completely impressed me this month and are up there with the best eyeshadows I've ever tried, and I've tried a lot! I have the shades Wattles and Weenie and I've been wearing both all month. Weenie is a great shade for the days when I'm doing slightly more with my makeup and Wattles is my go-to for when I'm keeping things simple and just want a pretty wash of colour across my lids. These are so buttery, they feel like cream eyeshadows and the pigmentation and blendability are amazing. I've already got my eye on a few more of these!

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip - I've been wearing these in the shades Trap and Midi pretty much all month, the former on nights out and the latter during the day to cheat a fuller pout. Both are absolutely lovely and the formula is one of the best liquid lipstick formulas I've tried so far (see here). They're so affordable and the quality is just really fantastic. Another range I'd like to try a few more shades from!

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder - This is another purchase from my trip to London and the result of a my-face-is-too-dewy-and-I-forgot-to-pack-powder dash through Boots. I'd heard a lot about this powder and figured I may as well give it a try (even though it was slightly pricy for a drugstore product!) and I'm glad I did! I've been using this all month to set down the shinier areas of my face and to keep excess oil in check. I think that especially now that the warmer weather is approaching, keeping powder handy is definitely a good idea!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - If you've been around these parts for a while, you'll remember that a mere few months back I was raving about this foundation on the reg and practically wouldn't shut up about it. A recent rifle through my drawers had me finding this again and realising it had completely fallen by the wayside in my makeup routine. Why that is, I'm not entirely sure, but since we've been reunited I've been using this pretty much every day. First off the shade match is a great one for me, which is not something I'm accustomed to from the drugstore and secondly it just looks super natural whilst giving good, light to medium coverage. A great foundation for these warmer months!

Phew, another wordy one today! Apologies for all the Colourpop bits being stuffed into this one post, but I really have been mildly obsessed with their products this month!
