UK Beauty Haul

UK Beauty Haul, UK drugstore, makeup, beauty

If you follow me on social media you may have seen that I went on a recent jaunt to the UK last week to visit my sister at uni. Although that was the main purpose of the trip, it's in my nature to steer off path when travelling and do a considerable amount of shopping. Despite only being there for four days, I still managed to make a substantial dent in my bank balance so I thought I'd bring you a good old fashioned beauty haul today and show you some of the bits I picked up!

UK Beauty Haul, Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Palette, Soap & Glory one heck of a blot

Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Palette - Of all the products in this haul this was by far the hardest to track down. I must've gone into about twenty different Boots and Superdrug locations - much to my various shopping companions' dismay - only to find these palettes sold out everywhere. Although I initially wanted the Solstice version of this palette, when I found this in stock I grabbed it and practically ran to the till. I've had a little swatch and it looks gorgeous, I'm really looking forward to putting it to the test. I shall keep you posted!

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot - As I've been into the whole dewy foundation look recently, I thought I'd be fine leaving for my trip without a setting powder and told myself my Hourglass powders would suffice. A lot of rain and sweaty train rides later I was convinced otherwise and dashed into the nearest Boots and picked this up. I've seen a lot of rave reviews about this product and I've been meaning to get it for ages. I used it the whole trip and have continued using it since returning. I really really like this powder, it mattifies without leaving things looking flat or cakey and it does a good job at sticking around throughout the day.

UK Beauty Haul, Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil, Benefit Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil - I can't even begin to count how many times I've raved about this brow pencil on the blog, so I'll keep this short and sweet. This is just me repurchasing this for about the tenth time now because it's my absolute favourite. If you're looking for an affordable brow product, give this a whirl!

Benefit Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil - Something I absolutely love and really miss about the UK are the freebies you get with magazines. I know the magazine itself is meant to be the main event, but I think us makeup enthusiasts are all guilty of purchasing a copy of Glamour or Elle, just because it's sold with a free lipstick. That was the case here, this brow pencil was a free gift with this month's Elle and that was enough to sell me. I have yet to try it but I'm really curious about it, considering how big Benefit's recent brow range launch has been.

UK Beauty Haul, collection lasting perfection concealer, charlotte tilbury matte revolution bond girl lipstick

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - Another repurchase here. I don't think I need to explain this one, most of you have probably already tried this! I've been using this concealer for years and I have yet to find a better alternative. As I can't get my hands on this in Zurich, I always make sure to stock up when I'm in the UK.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bond Girl - I've been meaning to purchase a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick for ages and I've had my eye on Bold Girl for the better part of a year now. I finally bit the bullet and picked this up and my oh my is it a beaut'! I have yet to wear it but judging from my swatching, it's a good 'un!

UK Beauty Haul, mario badescu drying lotion, liz earle cleanse and polish, cleanser, Soap & Glory hand maid hand disinfectant. haul, skincare

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion - Did anyone else see this in Kylie Jenner's Snapchat story ages ago and just feel like they absolutely needed it? I had no idea that Urban Outfitters even sold Mario Badescu so when I walked over to the shelves, a bundle of clothes in my arms, I very quickly decided that I was going to purchase the Drying Lotion. This is essentially a liquid you dab onto blemishes with a q-tip, which is supposed to dry them out. Me being the genius that I am, shook this up and used it like that, without bothering to read the directions. It wasn't until I was taking the photos for this post that I realised you're supposed to only use the pink sediment and apply that. Well at least I know now! Jury's still out on this one but expect a full review within the next few weeks!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish - This is a product I used ages ago for around a year or so but I ended up switching up my cleanser and didn't bother repurchasing it. Cut to me being in the UK, with nothing but an almost empty Ultrabland in terms of cleanser, making a quick dash through Boots before it closed (seriously, can you tell how often I was in Boots during this trip?) and picking this up. I've been liking using this again, it's a simple cleanser that my skin seems to like and it smells like a spa, so that's definitely a bonus.

Soap & Glory Hand Maid - It'd been a while since I picked up one of these little hand sanitisers, so I purchased one when I was at the airport. The scent of these is my favourite hand disinfectant smell ever and potentially one of my favourite scents overall. It's the original Soap & Glory fragrance and it smells absolutely amazing. A great one to throw in your handbag for on the go!

So there you have it, a little roundup of the beauty and skincare bits I picked up whilst I was in the UK. When I lived in the UK I tended to want the brands that were sold in the US but I never appreciated how many brands you can actually get in the UK until I moved to Zurich. So for all you UK-dwellers who are very used to seeing these products in shops I hope this wasn't too dull! I also picked up a few fashion bits whilst I was away, so if you fancy a haul let me know below! Have a lovely week!
