New In: Two Additions to my Highlighter Stash

I have a major thing for highlight. As far as I'm concerned, the glowier the better - a mantra that often leaves me looking like a somewhat of a shine-ball. So much so, in fact, that when I had to have my photo taken for work the other day, the photographer took one look at me and spent the next five minutes covering my face in MAC Matte. Either way, I'm a big fan of a bit of sheen so my highlighter stash has been growing at quite a rate recently. Today I thought I'd chat to you about two of the latest additions, the details on them and my thoughts so far!

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette - I honestly could've cried when this was delivered to me. I've been trying to get my hands on this palette since I first saw the release date for it online at some point last year. It's pretty much perpetually sold out and the only reason I even managed to get it was because I signed up for the email notification on Feel Unique that told me when it had been restocked. I ran to my laptop at a pretty impressive speed when I got that email - it's all about priorities. This has got to be one of the prettiest palettes I've ever seen, the shades are gorgeous and the pigmentation. It is something else!  I have yet to try all of the shades but so far the one I've used most is the peachy one (bottom right in above photo). It's so incredibly pigmented and glowy that you really only need a light hand along with some thorough blending. I'm really looking forward to using it more!

MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush - This was a product I heard a bit of buzz around on the internet and because I tend to buy into the hype, I decided to pick it up. It's essentially a peachy-coloured cream highlight with a bit of shimmer running through it. I tend to gravitate more towards powder highlights these days because I find them easier to work with and I hate when cream products move my makeup around my face. This is an exception to that rule because it's such a creamy, blendable formula. I tend to just tap this onto the top of my cheekbones using my finger and then lightly blend it out. It's not a highlight that packs a serious punch in terms of glow, but it does leave a lovely, soft sheen on the skin that leaves things looking nice and natural.

So there we have it, two new additions to my already overflowing beauty stash. Have you tried either of these products? What are some of your favourite highlighters?
