Sweat-Proof Summer Makeup

The recent temperature rise has really been testing my makeup lately and more often than not I've looked in the mirror to find that I'd practically become a reflective surface. In less gross terms: some of my usual beauty bits just aren't cutting it lately. Whenever the weather really starts hotting up, my makeup literally just melts off my face and if I touch my nose, you can actually see where the concealer is missing (a horrifying discovery I made after looking at a photo of me on a night out recently). In light of this very first world issue, I've put together a little makeup menu of sorts, compiled of beauty bits that can stand the summer heat!

Nivea Men Post Shave Balm - It's been quite a while since I last spoke about this product around these parts. If you're unfamiliar with the hype around this, it's actually a really great makeup primer. I use this pretty much every time I wear makeup now, as it just adheres my base to my face really well. It's very affordable too, which is a bonus!

Dior Glow Maximiser - I know, I use two primers, how very extra of me. Honestly, I'm not sure there's any added benefit to using another primer, but because the rest of my makeup is so matte, I like to add a bit of radiance before I apply my foundation. This primer is glowy as anything and looks really lovely under foundation!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation - I've actually run out of this and completely forgot to repurchase it when I was last in the UK, so this bottle is currently being used for photography purposes! This is probably the most long-wearing drugstore foundation I own (I only really own drugstore foundations) and it's the one I usually sub in once summer rolls around. It wears really well throughout the day and keeps my oiliness in check during the (very) warm weather.

Catrice Camouflage Concealer - I bought this concealer about a month ago and it's fast become a firm favourite of mine. Aside from the fact that the shade is a great match for me, it's super affordable and it's waterproof! The whole water-resistance element bodes very well in terms of sweat-proof makeup and this concealer really does stay in place throughout the day. A great one to try if you can get your hands on it!

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Cherub - This is a product I've spoken about so much over the (almost) year I've had my blog. It's another waterproof one, which makes it ideal for the hotter temperatures. The shade of this blusher works with pretty much any makeup look and as I've said many times before, the formula is just amazing. It's so pigmented and applies so nicely, meaning it's one I reach for a whole lot during the warmer months!

Urban Decay Beached Bronzer - Aside from the gorgeous packaging, this is a very nice bronzer indeed. It packs a serious punch in terms of pigmentation and wears really well. I often find myself looking in the mirror halfway through the day and wondering if I even applied bronzer as it just disappears, but this one really does stay put for a while. If you're a more pale-skinned gal like me: be wary! Use this with a very light hand or you'll end up looking slightly more burnt orange than bronzed.

The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer - There's not much to say about this highlight other than that it's a solid, fail-proof product. This is my go-to highlight; it's such a gorgeous, champagney shade and I love that there's not a hint of glitter or excessive shimmer to it. It leaves a lovely sheen on the skin and doesn't melt off your face when you're in the sun.

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil - I find that brow pencils work much better in warmer weather than powder does. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I find that powder tends to break up and smudge/fade if you're sweating slightly from the sun, whereas the waxy texture of a good brow pencil will stay in place longer. This one is just the best brow pencil I've found. I've mentioned it so many times, but if you're in the market for an affordable brow pencil that really does what it says on the tin, this is your guy.

L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper - Basically the next step to set everything in place and make sure things look nice and neat. This brow mascara won't smudge, melt or crumble off throughout the day and it also doesn't leave you with crunchy-looking brows. The shade range is very limited, but if you are able to make one of the two shades work for you (I use the dark shade and just wipe the excess off the brush before use) then it's a great product to have in your stash!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Creamy Beige - The Maybelline Color Tattoos are just really good for eyeshadow that stays where you put it without having to make much effort. When the temperatures are higher, I tend not to make as much of a fuss with my makeup and keep things simple. This is such a versatile shade that just adds a little something extra to the eyes, whilst still being a super easy step in your makeup routine.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara Waterproof - I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with this mascara. I love how it makes my lashes look and that it literally won't smudge or end up halfway down your face. I do, however, also hate how difficult it is to get back off. You need a seriously heavy duty makeup remover to remove this at the end of the day. In short: a great mascara that'll withstand the heat, but also if you have makeup remover recommendations, please let me know!

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Midi - If it's really warm out, I'll mostly just slick on some balm or a light lipstick, but both of those products aren't really heat-proof and will probably go melty and smudgy if you're sitting in the sun. If you really want something that'll leave your pout with long-wearing colour, then this one to try. The formula is slightly drying, but it really will stay put for hours and the shade of this makes your lips appear fuller than they really are. Definitely one of the best nude lipsticks I've tried in a while!

Another very wordy one from me today! I hope this has been somewhat helpful if your makeup has also been slightly sub par in the heat as of late! What're some of your favourite sweat-proof summer beauty favourites? Let me know, I could use some recommendations! Happy Friday!

Don't forget to follow along!
