Trying Zoella Beauty

Trying Zoella Beauty, Zoella Beauty Body Fondant, review, zoella makeup

In the past I've always been slightly hesitant to try products with celebrities or online influencers' names on them. My wariness coupled with the fact that very little has appealed to me thus far had resulted in me owning nothing from the YouTube crowd's beauty collections. After having a little gander at some of the products in the Zoella Sweet Inspirations Range, I found myself intrigued by the descriptions and the packaging - I'm a sucker for cute packaging.

The product I was after was the one product that was taking its sweet (pun intended) time to launch. I'm not entirely sure why the Body Fondant Shimmer Balm caught my eye, because as soon as I see shimmer in a body lotion I practically chuck it across the room. I'll blame it on the packaging and good marketing! I ended up ordering it online and got my hands on it a few weeks ago.

Albeit cute, the packaging isn't the most sturdy. It's basically a fairly thick cardboard cylinder that houses a metal pan containing the body fondant. Along with the product you get a little sponge puff to facilitate application. First off, the product itself really does smell amazing. It's a very sweet scent, so if that's not your cup of tea then I'd say give it a sniff in store before buying, because it's definitely a scent that packs a punch! I, however, love a sweet scent, so I'm more than happy to walk around smelling like a macaroon.

I was a little concerned that the shimmer balm would basically be a glittery mess and leave me looking like a disco ball, or that it would just be really greasy. Thankfully neither of those ended up being the case. I applied the body fondant to my legs and was left with a lovely, very subtle glow. After establishing that it wasn't going to make me look like I was covered in glitter, I cautiously applied some to my arms and d├ęcolletage (so fancy), which had the same result. It also feels quite nourishing on the skin and doesn't leave things looking or feeling dry.

If you're after something akin to the super-shimmery body oils from the likes of Tom Ford and Nuxe, this won't be for you. It's the kind of sheen that others probably won't be able to pick up on, but adds a nice something extra. It leaves you looking healthy and bronzed, which I'm definitely on board with!

Overall I really liked using this product. It's not at all what I'd usually reach for and definitely not an essential, but it's nice to incorporate an extra step every now and again, especially if you're heading out for the evening. Have you tried anything from Zoella Beauty?

  4. I haven't tried anything from Zoella beauty! I don't think I'd like this product exactly, but the scent sounds amazing. I think the Batte Latte or a traditional lotion would be for me x
