September 2016 Beauty Favourites

So September's over and we're officially getting into the full-on swing of autumn. Do not ask me where the month has gone because it seems to have flown by. I've kissed my summer-tan goodbye and brought back the fuzzy cardis and jumper, so I'm embracing the season. Honestly, whenever I do my favourites, I tend to just forget half of them and then remember as I'm writing the post, but I have rustled up some standouts nontheless. There's not a lot, but they're all pretty fab. So without further ado, here's the best in beauty from the month of September!

Replica Lazy Sunday Morning Eau de Toilette - I've had my eye on this for so long, so when my mum offered to buy it for me after returning from a recent trip, I snapped up the opportunity. I didn't actually like this when I smelled it in the bottle, but on my skin the scent completely transforms. I'm rubbish at describing scents, but this is essentially supposed to smell like the soft, fresh bed linen of a lazy Sunday morning. It's a floral scent and it's all-round lovely. A very pricey one, but you do get a lot in the bottle and it's just a gorgeous scent!

Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Bronzed - I have a suspicion that this has been in another one of my favourites, but I'm throwing it in here because it's pretty much the only bronzer I used all month. I kind of fell out of love with my NARS Laguna bronzer recently. I feel like I end up looking slightly muddy and all-round red. This bronzer leaves me looking lightly tanned and gives my face some structure on days when I can't be bothered with contouring. And that packaging tho. Oof.

MAC Modesty Lipstick - This was in my handbag throughout almost the whole month. I pretty much applied it like lip balm, because it's not a shade you have to be super precise with as it's a nude. Any lipstick that makes application sans-mirror an option is a keeper in my book. Goes with most makeup looks and smells like vanilla.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bond Girl - Fun fact: twice now (once in a post and once of Instagram) I've written this shade as "bold girl". So excuse if you've been confused by that pre-correction. Useless tidbit aside, this is definitely one of my favourite lipsticks in my collection right now. The shade is so gorgeous and different to the bevy of lipsticks I own and the formula is straight up fab. Matte, but not drying. Long-wearing but not flakey. Yes, it's a pricey one, but just look how pretty that packaging is. I mean, it's practically home-decor.

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Sequin - Has there been a single monthly favourites since my discovery of Colourpop where one of their products hasn't been mentioned? Doubt it. With good reason however! This is a super duper metallic shade and one so pigmented, it has an almost wet-look to it. It's a copper, which really brings out blue eyes and I've found myself reaching for it a whole lot over this past month. I wore it to both my graduation and my birthday this month, so that says it all, really.

MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ - Another pick that's almost definitely been in my favourites already, but hey ho. More often than not, I'll look in the mirror after finishing my makeup and feel like things just look slightly cakey. A few spritzes of this and your complexion is perked right up. If you don't want to splurge on the full-size, the travel mini is a lot more affordable!

Alessandro Striplac in Toffee Nut - I talked about my newfound love for gel nails in last weeks post. I've kinda been hooked. There's something about a glossy mani that makes the extra faff of LED all worth it. This is actually the shade I wore on my nails for both my graduation and my birthday too. It leaves your nails looking polished and classy, but I still think it's such a cool, browny-nude shade. I'm wearing it on my nails as I'm typing this, having painted them about a week ago and they still look great!

Wet 'n Wild Fluffy Eyeshadow Brush - Right, so this one has been deemed slightly pointless, due to the fact that I cannot find this brush anywhere online and don't know it's real name, as there's nothing on the brush itself aside from "Wet 'n Wild". In light of that, I'll keep this short, but this is a really lovely brush for blending out eyeshadow. It was super affordable, so it's one to have a look at if you do spot it at a counter.

So there we have it, another little ramble about what I've been loving lately. What have been some of your favourites throughout September? Have a lovely weekend and happy Friday!

  6. Bond Girl is such a gorgeous lipstick and one that's pretty much been a permanent member in my handbag lately. It's perfect for Fall/Autumn! The UD Bronzer has been featured on so many blogs and I'm so so tempted to try it! Although now that we're entering the cooler season I may just accept my paleness and go with it. I'll need to keep this on my lists to pick up once we enter back into Spring time!
