Five Nail Polishes for Autumn

I'm mildly obsessed with autumnal colours, to the point where I own about twenty variations of the same shades. As soon as September rolls around I'm colour-coordinated with all the leaves that have barely even fallen yet. One of my favourite ways to play around with colour is with nail polish. It also tends to be the first thing I adjust seasonally. So in light of that, here's a little roundup of five gorgeous nail polishes for autumn!

Essie Playing Koi - This is part of Essie's new autumn collection and my oh my, is it a beaut'. It's a true burnt orange shade and is probably the most quintessentially autumnal of the bunch. I will say that it looks slightly less orange and a tad more burnt (read, brown) on the nails, which I don't love, but it's a super pretty shade nontheless!

Essie In Stitches - The shade of this is pretty much if pink got an autumnal makeover. It's deep, it's dusky and it's all-round gorgeous. If you've been after a pink that isn't too girly, then this is a great one to try!

Essie Touch Up - Love lilac but don't feel like it's autumn appropriate? Fret not! This shade has enough of a greigeiness (definitely made that word up) to it to make it a bit more seasonally apt. It's one of the shades from the Essie Gel Couture line, which has apparently received some mixed feedback, but I think that this shade lasts really well on the nails.

OPI Barefoot in Barcelona - I love this shade. As someone who overzealously buys browny-pinks, be they clothes, accessories or lipsticks, this is a firm favourite. It's an understated nudey-pink that leaves your nails looking classy and polished. Highly recommend.

Maybelline Barely Yours - This is kind of a teensy weensy bit similar to the OPI shade, but a bit more orange and a heck of a lot cheaper! It will, however, have the same effect: neat, polished nails that still look cool.

I've definitely kept the colour scheme very light and airy in this roundup, but I am, of course also a fan of the deeper darker burgundy shades too! What are some of your favourite autumn nail shades? Let me know! Happy Friday!

  1. Soo many pretty colors! Lately all my autumn nails have been really dark blues, reds, and purples. But all these pinky colors have me changing my mind. I've heard mixed reviews on the gel couture line too, it probably depends on the colors. I'll keep the shade touch up in mind :)

  2. LOVE your picks! I grabbed one of the Essie Gel Couture reds and was super impressed with the lasting power, so I may have to grab Touch Up!

  3. The Essie playing koi is beautiful! I don't have any shades like that. In the autumn I really love any berry shades.
