New In | Additions to my Highlighter Stash

My highlighter stash seems to be growing almost as fast as my lip product stash these days. I see something shiny, I swatch it and in most cases it's game over. Highlighter in basket. Checkout. Oops. When I was in the U.K. I took full advantage of checking out the beauty brands I don't get in Switzerland, so naturally some purchases were made. Today I'm chatting to you about the two highlighters (or really one highlighter and one highlighter palette) I added to my collection recently!

Also, fun, completely irrelevant fact: As I'm writing this, I'm sat at the hairdresser's actually bleaching my hair! The thing I've been incessantly nattering on about over here for months! It itches and I have to pee but aside from that, woo, new hair!

Topshop Highlighter in Crescent Moon - I was totally not planning on picking up any Topshop beauty bits but wow, are they killing it when their range! I swatched this highlighter and pretty much headed off to the till. It's this gorgeous ethereal glow with a hint of pickiness to it, just gorgeous. This isn't one for those of you that favour a natural swipe of highlight, it's definitely on the intense side of things, but I love it for that. Honestly, I could sit here and say that it's a great one for a night out or a party, but I straight up wear this to work. Not even with a super light hand either. The obsession is real. Pigmentation and longevity are ace and the price point isn't half bad either. Highly recommend!

Sleek Cleopatra's Kiss Highlighting Palette - I sort of saw this on social media like once and it wasn't even really on my radar. I stopped by the Sleek counter in Boots to have a look at all the sold-outness of the highlighting palettes and to bask in the glory that is owning them (yes, I am lame, let's move on) only to find that they were all in stock! WHAT? They still had one Cleopatra's Kiss palette in stock so I decided to try it. Long ramble aside, this is very much on par with the other two palettes. Same great formula, but this time an even distribution of formulas: two creams and two powders. The lightest shade of the bunch is the one I was drawn to the most and I have to say that it's a tad too glittery for me. You know me, I love a good sheen and this has less of that and more of a disco-ball type thing going on. That is, however, my only gripe, the rest of the palette is pretty fab and I think there's something in there for a wide range of skin tones too!

From l-r: Cleopatra's Kiss Palette, clockwise starting top left, (Sphinx, Delta, Goddess and Dynasty) and Crescent Moon.

So they've just covered my whole head in bleach (well, not my face. Like my hair and scalp. You get it) and I just described the feeling as tiny ants wearing knife shoes crawling all over my scalp, so I think this point is as good as any to wrap this up! Have you tried either of these highlighters or would you like to? Thoughts? Also is all Topshop beauty this fab? Because if it is, I have to go on a bit of a spree next time I'm in the UK! I hope you have a super duper weekend and happy Friday!

Don't forget to follow along!

  1. I've wanted to pick up the Solstice Sleek palette but I just know there will be a shade in there that won't work for my skin. The Cleopatra palette is gorgeous though...
