'Tis the season (to buy loads of new lipsticks to wear to potential Christmas parties) and I'm most definitely in the spirit. It's no secret that I'm somewhat of a lipstick fan and recently there have been a few noteworthy additions to my stash, which, of course, called for a post to fill you in on the deets and show you some swatches. Here we go!
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick in 57* - When this landed on my desk at work I almost shed a tiny tear at the sheer beauty of the packaging. I don't have any other Volupté lipsticks in my collection but I've stood at the YSL counter lovingly gazing at them many a time. It took me a little while to realise that this was one of the Oil-in-Sticks but given the lovely sheer texture, it definitely makes sense. The shade of this is just fab. A sheer coral that packs a serious punch in terms of pigmentation. It has the same scent as their other lip products, (a sort of artificial fruity flavour) which I absolutely love too.
MAC Liptensity Lipstick in Driftwood - I waited so long to get my hands on this! When I got the call from MAC, telling me that they'd gotten another order in (yes, I put my name and number down on the "notify" list) I did a u-turn and dashed to the MAC store. The formula of these lipsticks is great as it is: satin, pigmented and long-lasting. The shade of this is what really sold me. It's a gorgeous greige-y pinky nude (shade descriptions: not my forté) and I see it pairing so well with a lot of different makeup looks.
NYX Lip Lingerie in Ruffle Trim - These have finally made their way to Zurich and since I was a big fan of the other shade I picked up, Bedtime Flirt, I figured I'd give this one a whirl too. It's the same formula which is very nice indeed as long as you apply a thin layer. More than that and you're looking at some tackiness and potential crumbling. Stick to a light coat and you're fine. I used to steer clear of terracotta shades, but lately I've been gravitating towards them. This is a browny nude with a hint of warmth to it and I like it very much indeed.

A brief little roundup on one of my favourite topics ever - lipstick. I've been trying to make an effort to use the lip products I already have in my stash, but these just managed to find their way into my beauty drawers. The effort will, however, continue! Until then: Have you tried any of these lipsticks? What are your faves?
*This post contains PR samples. As always, all opinions are my own.
Don't forget to follow along!
