The Big Beauty Gift Guide

The festive season is a-knocking at the door and I don't know about you, but once December rolls around I practically start throwing my money around with a gusto I don't normally display. I love love love buying gifts for other people. It definitely beats getting gifts for me (although I do like a good present, don't get me wrong) and I have a great deal of fun looking for bits that my nearest and dearest will love. This year I've put together a beauty gift guide for the makeup mavens in your life. All the products featured here are bits that I would be chuffed to receive once Christmas rolls around, so I'm sure many fellow makeup-obsessives will share that sentiment.

Too Faced The Chocolate Shop* (Sephora exclusive) - Before I got my hands on this set, I'd never tried anything from Too Faced before. Just look at it. Honestly, I think most people would be chuffed to unwrap this! The set features a huge eyeshadow palette as well as minis of the Shadow Insurance Primer, the Better Than Sex Mascara and the Melted Lipstick in Chocolate Milkshake. The eyeshadows are gorgeous, buttery as anything and super blendable.

Makeup Forever The Essentials* (Sephora exclusive) - If you have someone in your life who's only just getting into makeup or who wants to dabble in Makeup Forever and hasn't tried much from the brand, this is a great pick. I've never tried anything from MFE before and I've heard so many great things. The set features the Step 1 Skin Equaliser, the Microfinish Powder, the Aqua XL Eye Pencil, the Excessive Lash Mascara and Artist Plexi-Gloss in 400. That means you've got pretty much all bases covered in terms of makeup-needs! As an added bonus, the lipgloss is also a pretty ideal hue for the festive season!

NARS Lipsticks - NARS lipsticks are some of my absolute faves and I have a fairly decent stash tucked away in my drawers. The Audacious formula is one of my faves and I don't think you can really go wrong, gifting someone with a shade or two from the range. Two of my faces are the Audacious Lipstick in Kate* and in Mona*. You've got a cool-greigey purple for the more edgy lipstick lovers and a pretty burnt orangey-red for those who favour a more classic hue. A relatively new launch, the Velvet Lip Glide in Danceteria* is a fab one liquid lipstick enthusiasts. The formula is so creamy and lovely and doesn't dry out your lips at all. A welcome change from the ultra-drying matte formulas!

Stila Star Light, Star Bright Palette - I wrote a whole review on this here and pretty much harped on about how pretty it is. If you know someone who's seriously into their highlight, this is such a great pick. You've got three different shades to suit three different moods/makeup looks and the quality and formula is just fab.

Sephora Mask Party* - I've neglected the mask area of skincare for so long now after being so overwhelmed by the massive amount of choice. I never really know which one to pick, what will suit my skin type and what will actually work. Well fear not, because in this set even the fussiest of maskers will find the one. There are seven different masks in here (I won't list them all as we'll be here all day), including some for your lips, hands and feet!

Marc Jacobs About Lash Night* (Sephora exclusive) - For the eye-makeup obsessed gal or guy who loves a bit of luxe, this set includes the O!mega Lash Volumising Mascara, the Lamé Noir Ultra Glittering Mascara and the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Blacquer. Another very seasonally appropriate one, given the glitter in the small mascara. There's also something super fancy-feeling about the packaging of these three. Definitely a lovely luxury gift!

So there we have it, a big ol' festive gift guide for those of you looking to make a makeup-enthusiast happy this Christmas. Hopefully this has been somewhat helpful for those of you still on the fence in terms of gift buying and/or giving. I had such fun putting this gift guide together and I hope you enjoyed reading it! What beauty bits are you giving/hoping to receive this year?
