Luxury Beauty worth the Splurge

Luxury beauty worth the splurge, best luxury makeup, nars audacious lipstick, ysl volupte lipstick, anastasia modern renaissance palette, charlotte tilbury dolce vita, kevyn aucoin sculpting powder,

Whilst I'm a big fan of trawling the aisles of the drugstore, every now and again I like to splurge on some luxury beauty. As I've said many a time on the blog, I'm a firm believer that amazing products don't have to come at a price that makes you wince. There are, however, certain beauty bits that win me over, either with great reviews or because they just look so pretty in store. The latter is definitely the inferior selection criterion in terms of acumen, but what can ya do? Sometimes the packaging just seals the deal! Here are some of the luxury products in my stash that have absolutely been worth the splurge!

NARS Audacious Lipstick - I have three shades in this formula Anita, Kate* and Mona*. If you like a lipstick to have a satin finish but still last well on the lips, these are a great line to try out. Although I love super-matte lipsticks, every now and again I like to feel like I can rub my lips together and not have them feel like the sahara desert. These lipsticks are creamy and super pigmented, so they will transfer and require touch-ups during the day, but the lasting power is really impressive when you factor in said creamy texture. There are so many shades in this line, so most people are bound to find a colour they love.

YSL Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick - I have this in the shade 57*, which is a bright, rosy pink shade. If I was going to hand out awards for packaging, the YSL Volupté Lipsticks would most definitely be up there with the cream of the crop. I am so so so tempted to buy another one of these and I've often stood at the counter, ogling the lipsticks and carefully swatching them. There are so many shades of the Oil-In-Stick and regular Volupté Shine lipsticks on my wish list, so I'll definitely have to space future purchases out! This particular lipstick is very creamy and feels hydrating on the lips, thanks to the oil element of the product. The colour is one of those shades that just perks up your complexion and is a great handbag staple. Also I think YSL lip products smell absolutely amazing. Just as a little bonus

Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder - An oldie but a goodie. I ordered this from Cult Beauty when I was first getting into contour (yonks ago, at this point) after many attempts at sculpting with bronzer and ending up looking muddy, without having carved out cheekbones at all. I caved and bought this, despite it having a pretty hefty price tag for such a teeny weeny little powder compact. It was, however, definitely worth it. The pigmentation walks the line between sheer and medium, so that you don't end up with a load of product on your face at once. The shade is a great, cool-toned brown, ideal for creating the illusion of shadows. I bought this back when there was only the one shade, Medium, but they've since released a light one and a dark one, so hopefully most people will be able to find one that suits their skin tone!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette - Perhaps you remember when I first bought this. Or perhaps you just remember seeing that pink velvet packaging pop up in every other blogpost I published for about two months. I had to force myself to stop mentioning it, but it's one I've continued to use super regularly. As it has so many great matte shades, it's one I dip into for so many different eyeshadow looks. It's super versatile and there are a few shimmer shades tucked away in there too. If you're a fan of warm eyeshadow, this is a fantastic choice and I can't fault the formula either: pigmented, blendable and long wearing - it's pretty much all you could ask for from a good palette. Also the packaging is velvet. Velvet.

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette - Can you see which of the four shades has a gigantic dent in it? I'm mildly obsessed with the glitter shade in this palette. It's one of my absolute favourite eyeshadows for when I'm going for a bit of extra drama with my eyeshadow look and it was one I cracked out on the reg during the festive season. Aside from that, the shadows in here are stellar. It's a pricey little palette, but the quality is great. I love warm toned eyeshadow (as if you couldn't tell!) so the red shade is another firm favourite. The brown has a gorgeous, subtle gold shimmer running through it and looks lovely in the crease, whilst the lightest shade is a stunning champagne colour, making it a great one for highlighting the brow bone and inner corners. I also love how cute and compact this little palette is. A great one for travelling.

If you've been looking to treat yourself to some luxury beauty, then I think these are some great picks to check out. When it comes to makeup, there are few things more disheartening than spending a big chunk of your hard-earned money on a high-end product, only to find that it doesn't work well at all. Beauty is always very individual, but if you are looking to spend a little more on a product, I'd highly recommend doing lots of research, reading up on reviews and (if you can) going to have a look at it and swatch it in store. That way you should be able to avoid disappointment and end up owning something you really love and use a lot! What are some of your luxury beauty favourites?
