Metallic Lipsticks for Every Budget

Metallic lipstick seems to be a bit of a marmite trend: you either love it or you hate it. I sit firmly in the former camp and although I don't have many, the metallic lipsticks I use regularly are some of my favourite recent(ish) beauty finds. You also don't have to make a big dent in your bank balance to get a good metallic lipsticks - there are great ones at every price range! Today I thought I'd round up my favourites, including both very affordable and slightly pricier options.

Colourpop Ultra Metallic Lip in Man Eater ($6) - If you're after affordable makeup and don't want to sacrifice quality, Colourpop is always a great place to start. Their metallic lipsticks are no exception. Man Eater is a beautiful rose gold shade that I wouldn't necessarily have thought would make a great lip colour, but it really does! It's pigmented, creamy and lasts well throughout the day.

Kylie Cosmetics Metal Lipstick in Reign ($18) - My one and only Kylie Cosmetics purchase and one of my very first metallic lipsticks. If you fancy a deeper, more vampy metallic then this is a great one. The formula is good, as is the pigmentation and the finish is somewhere between a satin and a matte. It doesn't dry down completely and will still transfer quite a bit (more than the other two liquid lipsticks in this lineup) but it does mean it's less drying, which is definitely something I'm alright with!

Wet 'n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in Breeze ($0.99) - If you want to dip your toes in the flood of metallics and don't want to go in too bright and bold, this is a lovely pick. It's a creamy lipstick that gives you a nice amount of pigment without looking like you're wearing a super-metallic lipstick. This is one that looks great on its own as well as a topper over a nude lipstick for a little added dimension. For under a dollar, I have no complaints!

Jouer Long Wear Lip Crème Liquid Lipstick in Pamplemousse ($18) - Of all the lipsticks here, this is probably the one that makes the biggest statement. It dries down the most out of all of them and the metallic pigment is super impressive. Jouer were, to my knowledge, one of the first brands to come out with metallic liquid lipsticks and they did a fantastic job right off the bat. I thought the lipstick would be marketed under the guise of being a matte, but really slip and transfer all over the place but I was very wrong! Like any other metallic lipstick it takes a bit of work to get an even-looking coat, but once it's on it looks fab and sticks around for most of the day. $18 well spent!

So there we have it, a few of my shimmery lip product faves. Metallic lipsticks are currently one of my favourite ways to spice up an otherwise boring makeup look and I'm chuffed that there are so many affordable options out there now! Also, those have the be the prettiest swatches I've had on my blog for a while. Just sayin'.
