New In: NARS Spring 2017 Color Collection

NARS collections are always exciting to me, they produce some of my firm favourites and always create interesting new releases. Given that, you can imagine my excitement when the Spring 2017 Color Collection landed on my doorstep. After an initial phase of a lot of swatching, photographing etc. I got round to actually testing the products out. Today I thought I'd show you the collection and let you know my first impressions along with some swatches!

Duo Eyeshadow in Chiang Mai* - I own two of these eyeshadow duos already and absolutely love both of them. NARS eyeshadows are creamy, pigmented and blendable and this little duo is no exception. The shade on the right is a beautiful, somewhat purpley, brown shade that looks lovely blended all over the lid. I think the blue shade would look really cool blended into the lower lash line to add a pop of colour.

Semi Matte Lipstick in Breaking Free* - This lipstick is teensy tiny and absolutely adorable. It's the first I've tried from this particular lipstick line and the formula is lovely; light, creamy and not drying. I think this shade will be gorgeous for spring, it's a gorgeous bright coral that really perks up the complexion and will look lovely with a tan.

Velvet Shadow Stick in Grande-Large* & Siros* - I love eyeshadow sticks, they make for facilitated, foolproof eyeshadow application that lasts all day to boot. Siros is the typical kind of shade I'd gravitate towards, a warm bronze with shimmer running through it. This all over the lid, blended out looks gorgeous and is ridiculously easy. Grande-Large is a little out of my comfort zone, but as with the blue eyeshadow, I think it'd be a great one to smudge into the lower lash line. If you're not familiar with the formula of these, they're basically cream eyeshadows in stick form. Both shades are pigmented and blend out gorgeously.

Blush in Bumpy Ride* - NARS blushers are by far one of their most famous products and with good reason. They're pigmented (but not so much so that you can barely touch the pan with your brush) and last so well on the cheeks. I can always tell when I'm wearing a NARS blush as opposed to many other brands of blush I have, as it's still there at the end of the day. I haven't tried this on my cheeks yet, but it swatches beautifully and looks like the kind of shade that'll really perk up your complexion.

Lipgloss in Arag√≥n* - As someone who isn't usually much of a fan of lipgloss, it speaks volumes when it's the first product out of all of them I reach for. Look at that colour! If you like warm brown-y red shades, you'll love this. It's so incredibly pigmented and it isn't sticky at all. I've used this the most out of all the products here, so if you like gloss (or even if you're not such a fan!) this should be a pretty safe bet!

Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Pussy Control* & Endangered Red* - I'm not sure that these are actually a part of the collection, but they were sent alongside it, so I think they might be new(ish) shades. I own two of the Velvet Matte Lip Pencils already and they're some of my favourite products from NARS ever. I love matte lipsticks and these make applying it super easy. The pencil format means that it's easier to line your lips and then just fill them right in. Pussy Patrol is a really interesting, purple shade with a touch of grey to it and Endangered Red is a beautiful darkened bordeaux, fab if you're after a great matte vampy lip. Both colours are pigmented and long lasting.

From top to bottom: Breaking Free, Endangered Red, Pussy Control, Aragon, Siros, Grande-Large, Chiang Mai Duo Eyeshadow and Bumpy Ride.

So there we have it, my thoughts so far on this pretty little collection! I don't think I've really tried a product from NARS I haven't liked, so I somewhat expected I wouldn't be able to fault these bits! I've had a ridiculously busy week and am currently blogging from the plane, hoping that I manage to get this post up by Friday evening, we shall see! Either way, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and happy Friday!

  4. I love NARS! It's one of my favourite beauty brands. The collection looks stunning! Sadly, I think all the light blues and light pinks would look terrible with my complexion. The swatches look so lovely though.
