Shopping my Stash #5

So it's about that time again where I'm reeling in the spending and swapping the drugstore aisles for my beauty drawers. In a bid to save the pennies, I've taken to my stash to "shop" around for some neglected or - even worse - untouched products. I love doing this every once in a while, because it does in a way satisfy the shopping itch but it's all gratis. To most people it'll sound pretty stupid, but to us beauty hoarders this is simply economical shopping. So without further ado, here's what my latest delve into the depths of my drawers produced.

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow in Golden Peach - This was actually a limited edition shade way back when but the colour Baby Peach is very similar. They both have that gorgeous warm-orangey tone that makes blue eyes pop and it's an absolute tragedy that this has been left to gather dust. I've already made quite the dent in this because I used it non-stop after getting it but I feel like I'll really enjoy using it during the summer months. The peachy, foiled look it gives to the lid is gorgeous and for a sparkle shadow, the fallout is really bearable. I'll be sporting this quite a bit in the next few weeks.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Creamy Mattes in Creamy Beige - I can't believe that I barely ever reach for these anymore because the formula of the line is so good. Recently, I wanted a very nothing-y eye on a minimal makeup day and I just unceremoniously shoved some of this on my lids. The sloppy application didn't even really jeapordise the makeup - that's how foolproof this baby is. If you're starting out - or (like me) just plain lazy - I really recommend getting your mitts on one of these!

Smashbox Photo Finish Lash Primer - Okay, I'll hold my hands up here and admit that I have yet to even try this. It landed on my desk at work when I was still in the lifestyle department. Although I was keen to try it, it was giving me some serious flashbacks to that double-ended mascara I'd use in school, where half your lashes would just stay a weird white shade and the rest was a mess. I know things have come pretty far since then in terms of makeup, but I've been hesitant nonetheless. So now that I've included it here I'll be held accountable. I'll be trying this and reporting back!

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer - I used to put this in pretty much every other blog post. I was so obsessed with it and it was my first proper highlighter so I felt the need to tell everyone all about how great it was. Repeatedly. Then the highlighter trend exploded and brands brought out new products left right and centre and like any other beauty junkie, I strayed. I have not, however, forgotten what a gem this highlighter is. It's super glowy without being a beaming streak on your cheek or transforming you into a glitter ball. A pretty great one to crack out for Spring, methinks.

Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix in Chateau - I feel like I always buy so many dark lips and never actually wear them. Although I always admire it on other people, I always feel so weird and self-conscious rocking a bold lip during the day, especially at work. This is one of those products I always gaze guiltily at when I see it floating around in my lip drawer, because I know exactly how good it is, but have maybe used it once or twice. In case you haven't tried Colourpop's Matte X Lippie Stix formula, it's essentially a matte lipstick in a super creamy and pigmented stick formula but that almost has the finish of a liquid lip. That's how matte it is. Longevity aside, the shade of this is just stunning. It's a blackened red that I think would look fantastic with minimal eye makeup and lashings of mascara. I'll hopefully be putting this to good use next month!

So there we have it, my no-spend shopping trip. I really have fished out a few fab picks that I'm really looking forward to incorporating into my makeup routine. Do you ever shop the contents of your beauty stash? Have a fantastic weekend and happy Friday!
