Affordable Bodycare for Summer

Summer equals lots of sun, potentials tans and consequentially dry skin. I tend to stock up on body moisturisers no matter what the season and have to slather myself in them post-shower. Because of that I go through them like nothing else, which means I tend to stick to the drugstore side of things. I've tried a lot - good, bad and straight up ugly - so I thought I'd share three of my favourite picks for smooth, silky and bronzed skin throughout summer!

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter - This is a bit of a classic. It has the the lovely original Soap & Glory scent and whenever I use this it just reminds me of summer. If like me, you tend to get pretty dry skin, this is going to be a bit of a saviour. The texture is lovely and buttery but whilst it's heavy enough to pack a real punch in terms of hydration, it isn't heavy and won't leave you feeling gross for an hour after application. This is the priciest of the bunch, but a little goes a long way!

Garnier Body Oil Beauty Nourishing Lotion - I think this is one of the nicest smelling body products I've ever used. It seems like a bog-standard, nothing special kinda product but I actually think this is a real underhyped gem! Lotions are usually not enough hydration for my skin but because this one is infused with oil it does a fantastic job at moisturising. It's so incredibly affordable and readily available, so this is one I go through bottle after bottle of during the warmer months! If you have yet to try this and you also have drier skin, I highly highly recommend giving it a go!

Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Body Lotion -  This is one for all my fellow pale gals. Real fake tan scares me because I'm a clumsy fool and will surely end up looking like streaky bacon if I ever try and of the harder stuff. This is a gradual tanner, which makes it pretty foolproof (yay for me) and it also doesn't smell all that fake tan-ny so that's a definite plus too. The hydration on this isn't as good as the other two, but I don't use this for days on end without topping up with a heavier moisturiser here and there. You do need to make sure you rub this into your skin super thoroughly to avoid streaks but it's light enough that it won't be dramatic if you do miss a spot. If you're more of a medium skin tone, this may be too light for you but if like me, you tend to be more on the pasty side, this offers up a nice bit of bronze.

So there we have it, the lowdown on my bodycare picks from the drugstore. Like I said, I go through these fairly quickly, so it's nice to know I have products I can reach for that won't cost an arm and a leg to replace! What're some of your bodycare favourites?
