April 2017 Beauty Favourites

So we're almost halfway through the year - what is going on? I can't quite fathom the fact that we're already in May but that could also be due to the fact that I've been living in a month long blizzard in Zurich. It hasn't felt much like Spring, but I've been making the most of the few sunny days here and there by dressing far too skimpily for the cold and wearing a bunch of pink on my lids and lips. A true trooper. There have been a few standout products throughout the months, so as per usual, I've rounded them up for you. Here's the best in beauty from the month of April.

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anita - This is a fairly pinky nude, but it's one that lived in my handbag for pretty much the whole month. There's something about the shade of this that makes it such an all-occasion lipstick. It works with so many different looks and has such a lovely demi-matte finish that doesn't dry out your lips but manages to stay put for hours on end. I've made no secret of the fact that I'm a big fan of this line and this is probably my favourite shade I have from it. It also has magnetic packaging. Just sayin'.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - I mentioned in a recent post that I'd been struggling to track this foundation down in Zurich and was worried that they were going to stop selling Bourjois around these parts. Thankfully that's not the case and my sister dragged me to a counter so I could stock up on my shade. I think this is a really great foundation for this time of year, as it's so light and glowy. It's not one that's going to last really well if you're having a big night out but I really like it for everyday wear.

Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia Cologne - I picked this perfume up at the airport a few months ago (thank you, Duty Free!) after umming and ahhing over it for the better part of a year. Whenever I walked past a Jo Malone counter I'd pick this up and sniff it wistfully, before chickening out and going for my usual Blackberry and Bay. I'm so glad I finally got it together to buy this because I absolutely love it. It's fruity but the freshness and the floral notes of the scent stops it from being at all sickly. I highly recommend giving this a sniff when you get the chance!

Kiko Radiant Fusion Baked Powder - I spoke about this in my beauty on trial post a little while ago and said I'd update you. Well here we are and since it's in a favourites post, I think you already know it went quite well. Considering the fact that I bought this blindly, without knowing if it was going to my my shade or not, it's a pretty great match. I like this because it mattifies without leaving things looking super flat or cakey. It's a great one to pop in your handbag for on the go.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Wattles - This is an old favourite I've cracked back out for spring. It's such a gorgeous beigey-pink shade but there's more to it than you'd think. Swatched it looks pretty enough but blended out on the lid, it's just lovely. It's one of those one-wash-wonders, where you can blend it out and look like you've put in all this effort when really you've just used one single shadow. The pigmentation and longevity of these shadows never ceases to amaze me and they're an absolute steal for $5!

So there we have it, a not-that-springy favourites post. I'm really hoping that my next favourites will be filled with colours, pastels and me waxing lyrical about the gorgeous weather but I shan't be holding my breath. Until then I'll be donning florals and pretending it's warm enough to go out in sandals. What've you been loving this month?

Don't forget to follow along!
