Becca Backlight Priming Filter

I've had the Becca Backlight Priming Filter for almost two months now and being a bit of a primer-phobe, I was looking forward to trying something new. It's basically an illuminating primer that claims to "blur imperfections and impart a radiant glow". I thought it looked fairly similar to the Dior Glow Maximiser, which is an old favourite of mine that's been discontinued. (I'm still eking out the dregs of that tube and mourning the loss of my favourite ever primer.)

The Backlight Priming Filter is actually quite different to other primer's I've used. It's definitely sheerer than the Dior but it does still leave you with an absolutely gorgeous glow. When you apply foundation on top of it, it automatically looks more radiant, which makes this a great pick for the warmer months.

It has a light lemon scent to it upon application. It's not too overpowering at all and doesn't linger after applying foundation, so that shouldn't be too bothersome to those who aren't fans of scented makeup. The product blends into the skin seamlessly and whilst I don't see a huge difference in terms of blurring imperfections, it does "glue" your base to your face. I'd say it's quite a bit cooler in tone than the Dior Glow Maximiser, but both leave that slightly shimmery, glowy finish on the skin.

I wrote a whole review on the Becca First Light Priming Filter a little while ago, which is a more recent addition to the line. I'm not going to claim that the two are worlds apart, but I would say that one gives your skin more of an awake-looking boost, whilst the Backlight Priming filter does impart that glowy look to your complexion. Both improve the wear and longevity of my foundation and whilst they aren't cheap, they do what they say on the tin.

So there we have it, my thoughts on this glowy primer. We all know I'm a sucker for a good bit of glow, so naturally this product is quite up my street. I don't think it's level with my trusty Dior favourite, but it's definitely become a staple in my primer rotation. I'm looking forward to using it more during summer! Do you like the Becca Primers?
