New In: Three from Shiseido

Shiseido is a brand I still don't own a whole lot from, but I'm always intrigued by their new releases. It seems they're always doing something slightly different than the average brand and that's something I'm a big fan of. Their Spring release is no different, featuring a surprising mix of deep shades alongside pops of colour. I recently got my hands on a few of the pieces of the collection so I thought I'd share my first impressions and do some swatching! Apologies in advance for not being able to link anything: as far as I know, these products won't be available until August but I'm not fully clear on the exact release date. I'll be keeping an eye out for extra info and will update accordingly. Without further ado, here are all the deets!

Paperlight Cream Eyeshadow in Usuzumi Beige Gray* - These cream shadows come in such fun colours. There are green, blue, pink and purple shades all thrown into the mix. I got the most neutral of the bunch, which is a pretty pale grey. The texture of these is surprisingly light and the pigmentation is great, even upon first swatch. I think this will be a lovely one to sub in to create a bit of a softer smoky eye.

Instroke Eyeliner in Nasubi Purple* - When I first saw this I assumed it was a pretty standard black eyeliner and wasn't overly shaken up. However, once I played around with it and started swatching, I saw that it's actually a gorgeous deep purple shade. I'm really looking forward to using this a bit more and blending it out to give it a smudgy liner kinda look. The liner comes in a variety of shades, all very deep and rich. It's a cream formula, has great pigmentation and the swatch refused to budge until I gave it a good scrub, so that seems pretty promising!

Instroke Eyeliner Brush* - This interesting looking brush goes along with the liner and is curved to facilitate application. As a complete and utter eyeliner noob (despite my best efforts) it'll be interesting to see if this improves my skills or not. The brush itself has an ultra-fine tip made up of tiny brush hairs and seems like a great tool to create a fine line and a precise wing. I will report back on how I get along on my eyeliner journey!

So there we have it, a little roundup of some exciting new beauty bits. I haven't quite mastered the art of the smoky eye but I have a feeling these might help me get a little better at it. Have you tried anything from Shiseido? Have a fab weekend and happy Friday!

  1. I've never tried this brand before, I think I nearly purchased their eyelash curlers once but didn't in the end. The cream eyeshadow is a stunning shade.
