Three Nudes to Try

I'll save you the schtick about how I own way too many nude lipsticks, pretty sure you all know the drill. I've been rotating them on a more regular basis in a bid to actually dip into my collection a bit more as well as acquiring a few newbies. These three are the current cream of the crop and I thought I had to stick them in a post, so here ya go: a trio of nudes well worth a try!

MAC Lipstick in Whirl - The ever-shrinking lip liner has been nestled into my drawers for years now, ever since my Kylie Jenner-induced shopping spree. I've always loved the shade and was so excited when they released it in lipstick form. So much so that I apparently completely forgot about it. When my mum rocked up with this and decided it wasn't for her, I gallantly swooped in and took it off her hands. It's one of their mattes so the formula is creamy and long wearing, doesn't tug at the lips or suck out the moisture. This may not be a nude to a lot of people but I'm obsessed with brown shades and this will probably always have a place in my nude lipstick wardrobe.

MAC Liptensity in Doe - I think the Liptensity range might be my favourite from MAC - bold statement, I'm aware. I'm always impressed by the longevity of these considering their creaminess and I think the shade range is kind of fab. This is such a beautiful, classical pinky nude that leans just the right side of neutral without washing me out. If you like the sound of the formula, I highly suggest giving this one a swatch. Plus the packaging is kinda gorgeous.

Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Gel Lipstick in Hey Stranger - Another one that might not be considered a nude to some, but it's in the name so I'm sticking with it! On the lips it actually does pull slightly more nude than you might think and it flatters a variety of different makeup looks. I didn't think I'd ever be someone to be pulled in by the promise of a sheer gel lipstick, but here we are. These days the idea of easy on-the-go application trumps the dry matte liquid liquid texture for me. If you eat, it wears away and doesn't end up on your chin - something I'm pretty okay with.

From left to right: Whirl, Doe and Hey Stranger.
So there you go, your weekly nude lip inspo. All three have such different formulas but are really comfortable on the lips. The shades aren't similar at all but they work with so many different things that I consider them pretty foolproof. Great for chucking in your bag, which we all know I'm a big fan of. What're some of your favourite nudes?

Don't forget to follow along!

  1. I also have way too many nude lipsticks now XD But I justify it by saying they have so many different undertones and what not. I love the shade hey stranger! I haven't tried too many Marc Jacobs products so I may need to get it :D
