New In: Glow-Givers from Estée Lauder

I remember stumbling upon photos of the Estée Lauder Summer 2017 Bronze Goddess collection a few months ago and ogling the highlighter for a good five minutes. It took me a while to see the products crop up anywhere in Zurich but once I spotted them in person, I was a goner. I picked up two of the products from the collection and made a mad dash for the counter. Since I'm already so enamoured by the two products, I thought I'd take the opportunity to wax lyrical and share why this is potentially the best summer collection out there right now. Not being dramatic at all.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I picked up a product from Estée Lauder. Actually, scratch that, I can and it was years ago. Since then I've dabbled and occasionally been curious about their new releases, but never enough to buy something. The packaging of these products, paired with the unmistakable summer vibe that accompanies them, had me sold immediately.

The first product I picked up was the Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelée in the shade Heat Wave (although I believe there is only one shade currently). Look. At. It. Is that not the most beautiful thing you've ever seen ever? I held it in my hands like it was a tiny baby and I'm pretty sure the salespeople were alarmed by the strange blonde lady cradling their products in the corner. Drama aside, this is any highlighter-lover's idea of a party. The packaging is rose gold, there's a little turquoise detail on the clasp and housed inside is a gorgeous golden, peachy, champagne-y highlighter. It's not too sparkly, but it is intense. This sheen will have your cheekbones glowing from a distance so if it's subtlety you're after, this might not be it. You can, however, tone it down by dabbing a damp beauty blender over the top of it to take it down a few notches. Buttery, blendable and highly pigmented: it's a complete winner.

The second product that won its way into my heart is the Bronze Goddess Summer Lip Glow in Sunlit Nude. The lipstick is housed in a gorgeous rose gold tube, which is of the same-ish design as the highlighter, and is a nude shade with gold shimmer running through it. Now, I'm the type of gal who goes out of her way to avoid lipstick with shimmer in it. Metallic lipstick? Heck ya. Shimmer? Nooo. Somehow, however, this completely won be over. It's called a lip glow and that's exactly what it is. It imparts this stunning glow to the lips, which makes them look fuller. It is a sheer one, so I like using this with a lip liner underneath, but the result it gives is unlike any of my other lipsticks. Plus, that packaging. Seriously.

Left: Heat Wave, right: Sunlit Nude.
I don't know if you can tell, but I'm head over heels for this collection. I've discovered two new favourites and I'm really looking forward to using them more and shoving them in the next five consecutive favourites posts. Did you buy anything from this collection? Have a fantastic weekend and happy Friday!
