Recent Beauty Rediscoveries

In the last few months I've stuck to what you could almost deem a rigid beauty routine. I haven't had as much time to buy and try new makeup and I kept reaching for the same products over and over. Comfortable, convenient and easy? Yes. Exciting? Absolutely not. I instinctively started reaching for some of my other products that I'd been neglecting for a while and I've rediscovered a few favourites along the way. Today I thought I'd chat about a few classic oldies that have found their way back into my heart and onto my face/nails.

The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer - I feel like everyone has this tucked away in their drawers somewhere. I have so many highlighters now since the trend took off that this one kind of got left by the wayside. It was my first love in terms of glow and there was a time where it crept its way onto the blog on a near weekly basis. It's since been relegated to the depths of my drawers with my floozy highlighter ways going off the scale. I cracked this out again recently out of pure nostalgia and was so chuffed with the impressive yet not blinding glow it gave me, that I've been using it ever since.

Sleek Powder Blush in Rose Gold - I remember the hunt for this back when it first exploded and everyone ran out to buy it. It was pretty much perma-sold out for the better part of a year. I eventually stumbled across it and giddily bought it. As someone with slightly enlarged pores, I took a step back from blushes with shimmer in them so as not to exacerbate the issue. I stopped using this along with my other shimmery blushers and stuck to mattes for a good while. When I used it for the first time in a while recently, I noticed that the shimmer in this is fine enough that it doesn't emphasise pores but rather imparts more of a glowy rosiness. If you can get your hands on this I highly recommend it!

Essie Splash of Grenadine - This has got to be one of my favourite nail shades ever. As someone with more nail polish than any person could ever need, nail favourites are far and few between and I'll often forget to use shades altogether. That was the case with this colour until I used it again recently. It's such a unique shade and I feel like I have nothing quite like it in my collection. It walks the line between a lilac and a pink so well and somehow still manages to look cool. I have a sneaking suspicion that this has been discontinued after my friend quizzed me on the shade, went to buy it and then informed me she couldn't find it. When I checked in store I found the same situation. I'm really really hoping that's not the case, but either way, I'll be rationing out the rest of my bottle!

So there we have it, a little insight into my current beauty rotation. I really need to have a clear-out soon because clearly I've got far too little idea about the amazing bits I still have hanging out in my beauty stash. Have you used any of these products?

Don't forget to follow along!
