The Bronzer Hit List

There are few constants in my makeup routine but one of them is bronzer. I have an extremely pale complexion and whilst the rest of my body will happily tan after only an hour in the sun, no amount of rays seem to be able to trigger my face to naturally up its melanin. In light of that, bronzer is a step in my base routine that I see as an absolute necessity and for the last few weeks I've been rotating between three. They're all very warm toned, which works well with my skin, as well as being matte, so the overall finish of all three is very natural!

Catrice Sun Glow Matt Bronzing Powder - This is the most budget friendly bronzer I have in my collection. It's ridiculously pigmented, so you have to use a light hand, lest you want to look like a giant satsuma. Once my body is properly tanned, I find that this really looks good on my skin. If I'm still looking pasty, it can be just a touch too dark to match up with the rest. Nothing fancy here but it gets the job done and very well at that.

Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Bronzed - I think the packaging of this bronzer is just so cute and summery. I won't lie, it even played a minor to medium role in me picking it up in the first place. Fortunately, the product inside is great too. It's pigmented and although it's super warm toned, it's very blendable, meaning it still looks natural on the skin and won't leave you with a stubborn stripe under your cheeks. A bit pricier, but guys - the packaging.

NARS Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer in Seaside* - This one's a little different to the other two in that it's definitely more of a buildable one. If you're someone who tends to go a little heavy-handed in the bronzer pan, this might be a good one for you. The product is sheer, so it does take a few layers to really build up the pigment. It does, however, mean that you can also go for a super subtle bronzed look, if that's what tickles your fancy. The shade of this is quite light, so I think it'd be quite a good one for fairer-skinned guys and gals. Definitely the priciest of the bunch, but also the most versatile and interesting formula!

So there we have it, a little look at my bronzer favourites. I'm hoping my face does develop some slight hint of a tan still, but until then, these have got me covered. What are some of your favourite bronzers?

  1. I don't own any of these, I wish Catrice was available in the UK and love the packing of the Urban Decay bronzers but they look easily dupable to me, I already own quite a few bronzers. I love NYX and Nars the most, but really want to try these two, thank you for sharing! Bronzer seems to be the only product I hit pan on xxx
