Two Summer Scents

As the seasons change, so do my perfume choices. Away go the heady, musky fragrances and out come the fresh, floral scents. When it comes to perfume, I tend to pick more subtle ones for day to day use. I'll occasionally go a bit deeper for an evening out but daytime is strictly light scents during the summer. There have been two in particular that have on my radar lately and I've been reaching for them almost exclusively, so I thought I'd grab to opportunity to have a brief ramble about them.

Maison Margiela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning - This is likely the fanciest fragrance in my collection and I held out on purchasing it until I could ask for it as a gift from my parents. When that day rolled around, I spent a solid while taking photos of the packaging and the bottle because it is just so swoon-worthy. As the photo on the packaging suggests, this is supposed to be reminiscent of fresh bed linen on a lazy sunday morning. It's somewhat floral and very fresh, making it a lovely one for the summer months.

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne - It took me so incredibly long to bite the bullet and pick up a bottle of this. Every time I went through duty-free I'd give it a sniff, spray it on my wrist or onto one of those little paper sticks, proceed to get wafts of it throughout the day and kick myself for not buying it. I eventually decided to pick it up on a bit of a whim and it's been love ever since. This is definitely a more of a fruity floral scent (name's a bit of a giveaway here) but it walks the line between sweet and fresh well enough to keep things super light and not at all overpowering. If you're after a new perfume, I highly recommend giving this a sniff when you next pass a Jo Malone counter!

So there we have it, two of my current favourites for the warmer months. Hopefully this has provided you with a bit of perfume-inspo in case you've been pining after a new signature summer scent. What've been some of your favourite fragrances recently?
