July 2017 Beauty Favourites

My favourites are coming at you a little late this month because I somehow completely missed half of July. As per usual it flew by and following a slightly-more-spendy-than-usual month, my beauty purchases have been put on hold. There were, however, a few standout products throughout the last four weeks, most of which have been the result of me shopping my stash and scouring the depths of my drawers to bust my beauty routine fatigue. So without further ado, here's the best in beauty from the month of July!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream - If you read my recent post all about gloss, you'll know that I'm a touch obsessed with clear gloss as of late. Eight Hour Cream is not gloss in the conventional sense, but it is a do-it-all wonder, that'll leave you with a shiny, hydrated pout. I've depotted a small amount into a tiny plastic tub, which I keep on me at all times. If I can't be fussed with proper lipstick, this has been what's made it onto my lips almost every time. One tube will last you absolute yonks and if you can get past the not-so-wonderful scent, it's an absolute lifesaver.

Rodial Blusher in South Beach - For some reason, the Rodial blushers have been pretty much the only ones to grace my cheeks these last few months. It may well be because they're so compact that I've been chucking them in my makeup bag for hasty post-gym-appication but is likely due to the fact that they just do exactly what they say on the tin. They're pigmented, long-lasting and blendable. This shade is a gorgeous pale pink, which you can't really go wrong with.

Kiko Automatic Precision Lip Liner in 502 - I've had this liner for an embarrassingly long time but it's still going strong. I naturally have very pale lips, which can sometimes look as if they fade right into my face. If I fancy upping the definition a little, I'll just really lightly fill them in with this rosy pink shade and chuck some balm over the top. The liner is creamy and super pigmented and lasts really well.

Jo Malone Wild Rose & Oud Dry Body Oil - This was an impulse purchase I blogged about when I first bought it and since then it's maintained a firm place on the top shelf of my bathroom. It's a super luxurious post-shower product that keeps your skin super soft, without leaving behind a slick upper layer. The scent lingers and doubes as a perfume and the bottle, albeit pricey, contains a significant amount of product and lasts absolutely ages!

Essie Go Ginza - You know it's love when you paint your nails the same shade for three weeks in a row. For ages, this was the only nail polish I wanted to wear and I actually went out of my way to look for a gel polish in a similar shade so I could have a version that was more resilient. The colour of this remains superior to the gel dupe I bought, so it's been my go-to all month. Essie's website describes it as a "soft pink", but I'd definitely say it's more of a whitened lilac. It's stunning on the nails and the formula is on par with Essie's usual great quality polishes. A gorg summer shade that won't break the bank!

I'm struggling to come to terms with the fact that summer is slowly fading away. Twitter is replete with bloggers rejoicing over the approach of Autumn and there are people planning their Halloween outfits left, right and centre. I, for one, am planning on making the most of what's left of summer but I the vampy lip and nail shades have started to make it back into my beauty rotation. Nonetheless, here's to the final month of summer, may it be filled with ice cream, sun and pastels!
